Pros: The program is structured and easy to follow.
Cons: Not everyone is ready to really commit to changing their life.
The Bottom Line: If you are ready to change your relationship with food, instead of just losing weight for the short term, this is a very effective weight loss program.

I went on the Jenny Craig program in 2001, and lost 55 pounds. I have kept it off since then, using the principles I learned on the program.
I also found that, while the food isn't cheap, it is really good. It is much higher quality than Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers frozen foods from the grocery store. They also have cookbooks and suggestions on their website for spicing up the entrées and making them more to a similarity to your own home cooking.
I joined on their Rewards plan, which gives discounts on the food, and really enjoyed the eventual 30% discount I earned. However, right from the start, I found that by really dedicating myself to the program, and giving up all my meals out, as well as snacks from the machines at work, and lattés from Starbucks, I was spending much less on food than I had before, even when I was paying full price for the Jenny Craig food.
I found the one-on-one consultations really helpful. I had been a Weight Watchers member before, but usually felt disappointed with the meetings, because there were 20 or 30 other people there, all vying for attention. The meetings took a lot of time out of my day. My 20 minute meeting with the Jenny Craig consultant fitted my busy lifestyle better.
This is not a fad diet, but a healthy weight loss program, and you will be encouraged, but not required, to exercise.
If I could have done it on my own, I would have 30 years ago, and would have kept it off. But I wasn't able to do it myself. I needed a whole new way of thinking about my relationship with food, and I needed to learn how to eat real food in reasonable quantities. I found that at Jenny Craig. They not only help you to lose the weight, but how to think about it, and take care of my mind and body, not just lose weight.
