Pros: IT WORKS!!! We feel better than we have in years,look better,too!
Cons: First 3 days are hardest, but it DOES GET BETTER!!!
The Bottom Line: Everyone SERIOUS about health & weight loss needs to check this out! It really is a new way of life! Like all else, won't work if you don't try it!

I'm amazed & thrilled with our results! My husband lost 80 lbs. and I've lost 55 since January (5 months!). I never thought I'd see such amazing results so quickly, and my husband is smaller than he was in high school (we're 45-ish).
We've been married about 10 years, and have GROWN together in many ways, over the years, including around the waist. His father has become diabetic, & Steve (my husband) was worried that he was heading in that direction, too. But our eating habits were average American (Super-Size,all-you-can-eat,is dinner ready where are the chips & cookies?) Steve's an electric co. lineman, up & down poles, very active, but @ 300lbs, getting winded & tired a lot easier. We were desperate, but didn't know where to start, the idea of dieting, starving, depriving ourselves just didn't sound appealing. Then I ran across an old friend that had lost weight & asked him how.
Long story short, I had him talk to my husband, & surprisingly, he was ready to try the plan.
We looked at the meal plan options & placed our order. The plan calls for 6 meals a day(5 Medifast products, one "lean and green" meal). The products are dr. formulated, soy-based, nutrition packed, & most are pretty tasty (I won't lie, I hate the hot chocolate and the strawberry shakes), but the great thing is that there is such a variety to choose from, you can't help but find SOMETHING to like.
The week before we started, I went out & had all my favorite foods so I wouldn't feel deprived when we started(you'd be surprised how much hunger is more mental than physical!) When the order arrived, we made the house fail-proof(got rid of the temptations), picked a day to start, & dived in! I also have to say, this program isn't just about food, Take Shape For Life is a (free) support program, with health advisors, Dr. & Nurse calls, & support meetings. It's all about getting healthy, supporting each other, & re-learning how to make intelligent food choices.
The food choices keep you from being bored stiff, you can have oatmeal, hot chocolate, cappuccino, or a shake for breakfast. You can have 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day (watch the caffeine!), crystal light, tea (Splenda or Equal), & all the water you want. 8-10 glasses a day are mandatory. A shake mid-morning, lunch can be a bar or soup & crackers(Medifast), afternoon snack about 3ish, lean & green for dinner, then an evening shake to fight those evening pangs.
There are many other things to say about this plan, all positive, but bottom line is IT WORKS!!!! Also, when you get to your goal weight, there's help for transition & maintenance. Everything you could want to put you on the road to a new, healthier, fitter, SMALLER you!
Yes, we are so convinced of the quality & integrity of this program that we've become health advisors ourselves, & have been priveledged to help a few friends get on the road to health, so we shamelessly plug this product. I just want to say that I would not waste my time with it if it didn't work or if it was just another "gimmick diet". It works as long as you want it to, just like anything else, anything worth doing is going to take some effort. My favorite helpful hint about staying on the program(like I said, it's 95% mental), is that if you fall down & have a bad day, lose control & have a cookie or something, you're not cheating, you're PAUSING. That way, you lose the guilt trip, & realize that life goes on you're not a bad person or weak-willed. Then you get right back on the plan & continue losing weight & getting healthier. In fact, Steve & I planned from day 1 of our plan that after 2 solid months of sticking firmly to the plan, we'd treat ourselves to a "pause" & celebrate our success!!! It was wonderful. Then we got back on the plan & kept losing weight, seeing weekly results.
The key to results is KETOSIS, which happens when you quit putting sugar in, & the body starts burning fat instead of muscle( for full explanation, see tsfl.com). We've learned a lot over the past several months, and we're convinced this is going to be our health plan for the rest of our days.
