Helpfulness of Suport
Pros:Easy to follow, No cravings, "Idiot Proof!"
Cons:Restrictive, no fruit allowed until weight loss goal is met.
The Bottom Line: Great products, support and customer service. This will be my "diet for life!"
I have never succeeded with sticking to a diet, with the exception of a very low fat diet that I lost 30 lb. on about 20 years ago. When I started Medifast a week ago I was at an all time high, 183 lb., 5'6". When I was 9 months pregnant I weighed 174 lb., so I REALLY mean an all time high weight gain. I was very fearful of giving up what I loved most in life, which is food. I was scared this would be yet one more failed diet. But, low and behold, the food arrived and I haven't looked back. Where this program succeeds is in getting your blood sugar leveled out so that cravings go away very quickly. I am not a cook, and not very organized as far as meal planning and preparation so this was another benefit of Medifast. They do everything for you, so it's "idiot proof" for people like me. There's no counting, measuring, etc., and it's easy to eat out as this will count for your one "lean and green" daily meal. My first shipment was the "Men's Variety Package," since the meals/shakes had more protein. I LOVE this plan and believe it's going to be a success. I enjoy a shake or pancakes with s.f. syrup for breakfast, and oatmeal late morning. I usually have chicken soup for lunch. Meal bars are a great option for the afternoon meal and I enjoy the brownie or cappuccino in the evening. I've also enjoyed learning about nutrition from this program, such as the fact that high fructose corn syrup is highly addictive and is in many of the foods that we consume every day. I am so sensitive to simple carbs that I don't think I'll ever be able to consume them again without starting the food addiction cycle all over again. Medifast has a great transition phase where they "re-teach" you gradually how to replace the Medifast meals with healthy choices from your own pantry. At about $320.00 per month, I don't think I'm spending more than I did on my own at restaurants and the grocery store. YAY, I've finally found the diet plan that matches up to my lifestyle and personality perfectly!! The Medifast soy protein works. Five pounds down, and Forty Eight to go! p.s.: There's a Medifast facebook page which is great for support, recipes, etc.
