Pros: Lose weight, kinda fast.
Cons: Limited food selection
The Bottom Line: Good for those who can work with what they have. It is pretty easy after the first few days.

Well, I would first like to say that there are two types of the grapefruit diet. One of them is stupid and is not wise to follow. The other is good and pretty enjoyable. It cut out the problem of what am I going to eat. I was a vegetarian for 14 years, and then I started eating meat. I had gain weight not from the switch but because I got less active. Since I was vegetarian the only meats I actually like were chicken and turkey, I was never a fish person, unless it was like perch. I lost 27lbs. on the grapefruit diet. The one I used was:
1/s grapefruit or grapefruit juice unsweetened for every meal except the nighttime snack.
Breakfast was: 2 eggs and two slices of bacon.
Lunch: Any type of meat, a salad any dressing
Dinner: Any type of meat, salad or stir-fry
Bedtime: Tomato Juice or skim Milk
None of the meals can be skipped
No white vegetables, no sugars, no starches, and no grains.
I used turkey bacon, and may I add that u can double or triple portions of meat, or salads and should eat until you are full
You diet for 12 days, and rest for 3
This is what the diet looks like I may have skipped something so check elsewhere, just make sure it looks like the one I typed somewhat or it is the crazy one. True, it may sound like a horrible diet, but it was much better than what I was eating before.
