| Trouto's Full Review: The Zone Diet |
The Zone Diet is pretty muck just a book that will tell you what you should already know. Eat right and exercise.
While living with one of my mates, he started The Zone Diet and got me into it as well. It's based around a high protein, low sugar diet. Don't look at it like a diet in losing weight, but gaining your ideal health. Both me and my mate would be classed as "below" the ideal weight category for our height. I found that sticking to the system of counting protein levels, and balancing this with carbo's and heaps of vegies, you had a near unlimited level of energy.
While on The Zone Diet, I found that I could get by with only six hours sleep, which is a HUGE change for me. I used to be one of these people who slept for eight hours, and woke up tired. While following The Zone Diet, I worked hard, and slept deep. This is the key though, it's nothing new. If you eat right, and exercise often, you will be healthy (barring unforseen problems that are unavoidable such as car accidents).
I have come to the conclusion that the problem with our society is that people need others telling them what to do. I mean, If you feel like hell every day, and find yourself eating MacDonalds 5 times a week while sitting at a desk all day, you SHOULD see a connection. How many ads are on TV telling us to "eat 5 servings of vegies" and "work out for at least 30 minutes a day"?
I am not knocking The Zone Diet. Realisticly, It's ideal for people to know exactly what they are supposed to eat and how they are supposed to act, not to mention conveniant. Why not use other people's vast research into the human body? The Zone Diet is just this. It cuts straight to the good stuff, and if you follow it to the letter, you WILL become healthy, I know it!
In conclusion, I feel that The Zone Diet is a wonderful idea, and will work for nearly everyone in it's approach towards protein bulking and carbo loading. Offset the diet with a good workout regime, and watch for the positive results.
