Pros: Works great on higher settings
Cons: Quite noisy on higher settings
The Bottom Line: If noise is in any way, shape, or form, get a QuietCare model. If noise is of little concern, this model works the best.

| cheetah777's Full Review: Honeywell Enviracaire 13520 Air Purifier |
The problem with this HEPA filter (which is the same for all similar Honeywell models) is that, on the higher settings, it is quite noisy. However, in order to be effective (as is the case for all HEPA filters), you must have it on the "High" or "Medium" setting.
I find my wife often turning down the setting on this filter because it is so noisy. We have a Honeywell QuietCare model in another room (which Sears sells under the Kenmore brand name), which doesn't work as well at an equivalent setting, but is much, much quieter. The "High" setting on the QuiteCare model makes less noise than "Low" on the regular model. In fact, the better performance of the regular model is negated because my wife can't stand the noise and keeps the setting on "Low."
Another factor to consider is that while the QuietCare model can be placed up against a wall (or a couch, or whatever), the regular models belong in the middle of a room.
