My husband's face looks better thanks to his Norelco Advantage Razor

My husband has used his Norelco Advantage Rechargeable Razor (Model #5615X) for about a year & says he likes it a lot. He has a medium beard & hasn’t used any other form of shaving since he purchased his Norelco Advantage.
Some useful features:
- Cordless
- Can be used on either wet or dry skin
- 2-year warranty
- Has a 60-day money-back guarantee if you are unhappy with the shaver for any reason BUT you are supposed to mail it back to Norelco postage & insurance prepaid. I think many retailers would accept the return if you weren’t satisfied.
- Razor heads are stainless steel
- Comes with a small travel pouch (that my husband has never used)
- Comes with a trimmer attachment for beards, moustaches, & sideburns
- Includes a package of 5 lotion cartridges BUT my husband doesn’t use these. He feels they are too expensive to replace so uses a small amount of his own lotion on his skin before shaving. He also opens the Razor Head Assembly & runs it under warm water before shaving.
- Comes with a dual voltage charging base (100-120V AC or 220-240V AC) so can be used when travelling overseas
- Takes only 5 minutes for a complete shave
When fully charged the shaver provides about 36 minutes of shave time. Recharging the battery is simple: all you do is set the shaver in the charging base. The initial charge takes 8 full hours but subsequent charges after each use are a fraction of that time. My husband only recharges his unit once a week. He sets it in the base at bedtime & it’s ready halfway through the night. We have yet to need to replace the battery.
My husband does not perform the maintenance that he is supposed to with his Norelco. You are supposed to clean & lubricate the razor heads once a month. He has not done this but says he still gets a good shave!
When I asked him if he thought this shaver gave as close a shave as the traditional razor he said, “it’s close enough.” I think the Norelco Advantage does not shave quite as close but my husband’s face looks better overall. He has fewer abrasions & his skin is not as dry as before. He has no complaints about the Norelco & gives it 5 stars. I’m giving it just 4 because of the price & the fact that the shave isn’t quite as good as a regular razor.
