Techsan's Full Review: Remington Precision Deluxe PG-200 Beard Trimmer
For some nutty and crazy reason, I decided about a month and a half ago that I would try to grow a goatee! Don’t ask me why, I am a clean-cut guy; I was just trying something new! Well, my little experiment has gone pretty well. About two and a half weeks into growing this thing I noticed that some of these new hairs were tending to get a little out of hand. So, after work one day I dropped by the local Target and picked this little trimmer deal out.
So far I have been pretty happy with this trimmer. I was real anxious to use it and get to work on those wild hairs at first, but when I opened the package up, they said that it had to charge for 16-17 hours for the first time. 16-17 hours??? Come on, you don’t have to charge a car battery 16-17 hours; this was a pain in the butt. Since the initial charge, the trimmer stays charged pretty well, even for long cutting sessions. I wouldn’t say this trimmer holds the charge great, but it is adequate to get the job done.
The trimmer comes with its own trimmer base, which is small and easy to place in any bathroom. The trimmer is equipped with several different attachments that really added a bonus, when I was checking out the other trimmers in the store. It comes with the standard shaver attachment for getting close, working on the neck, etc. On top of the standard shaver attachment, you place these plastic adjustable pieces that are used for trimming and cutting longer facial hair. The higher the number on the attachment the longer it will leave your facial hair. These attachments work very well. The trimmer also comes with a nose trimmer attachment, used to chop down those squirrelly out of control nose hairs. This attachment works pretty well, I have used it a couple of times.
I have found that you really need to clean the blades and the trimmer real well after each use. The trimmer tends to get bogged down and jammed up if you don’t. Fortunately Remington encloses a small brush to clean the trimmer. They also include a decent little beard or mustache comb to check out your work after you are done. A little bottle of oil is also included to keep the razor motor lubricated and working properly, nice touch.
I purchased this trimmer at Target for $19.99, you really can’t go wrong with this trimmer for that cost. The trimmer does a great job; it is cheap, and really easy to use. I have found no problems changing out the attachments or anything like that. If you are looking for a cheap beard trimmer the Remington Precision Cordless Rechargeable Deluxe PG200 for you, it is money well spent!
