| thenora's Full Review: Remington Smooth and Silky WDF-2000 Electric Shave... |
When my favorite electric razor finaly moved onto razor heaven I found that I just didn't like the hassel of shaving with a blade and shave cream. I decided it was time to switch back to an electric razor.
My previous razor had been a remington brand but they no longer make the exact model so I found myself staring at a variety of models and knowing nothing about any of them. At first I thought of just getting a mens razor however something caught my eye. An electric razor, that was not only rechargeable, but could be used in the shower or out of the shower. I purchased it.
Once home I hooked it up to the charger and waited the recommended 7 hours befor first use. I have to admit that I was very happy with the initial results. Of course, with any electric razor it does take a few times for your legs to get adjusted to the razor. This took me about 2 weeks.
So far I am pretty happy with the razor. It has a few drawbacks, but I'm willing to over look them. If you take your razor off the charger or as in my case the charger got unplugged, the razor looses it's charge. You can't pack it for a trip unless you plan on taking the charger with you. I also noticed that the hair grows back sooner then with a blade shave or with a hair remover cream. I generaly have to use it every other day to keep that really smooth to the touch feel. That can be a bit of a hassel as not everyone wants to shave that often. However, the shave time is cut drastically with the razor so I've been able to deal with that.
One of the best things about this razor is the fact that it can also be used on both underarms and bikini areas. Most electric razors I've tried tend to be a little rougher on those tender spots, but this razor isn't painful at all. I do recommend that when using it to shave underarms that you pay attention to what you are doing. The clipper parts that are located on the razor can pinch the skin of your underarm if you are not paying attention.
Another plus I found in this razor is the fact that it doesn't burn to put on deoderant right after you shave your underarms. Most razors tend to take a good part of skin with them, thus causing that wonderful burning sensation when you put on a deoderant that is either spray or roll on. This shaver doesn't have that side effect.
Clean up of this particular razor is fast and easy. They include a brush that is perfect for cleaning. The top flips open with the push of a button so that you can brush out the inside blades. With the flip top feature you aren't as likely to loose the parts to your razor.
All in all I believe that I made a good choice in this razor and hope that if you decide to try it you will find it what you need as well.
