I received the Smooth and Silky Plus Body Contour Shaver WDF5000 for Christmas last year. It was one of the items on my wish list and since I had never owned an electric shaver I really wanted to try one out. I was very excited about this gift!

I first had a hard time deciding on the best setting for me but ended up using the "very short hair" setting the most. I found that it provided an excellent close shave for my legs and underarms. If you do miss a day or two shaving you will still find that this razor does not pull your hair like some other brands. The contour shape molded to the curves in my legs and made shaving really easy. I am very pleased with the performance of this razor. I suffered from occasional razor burn before I started using the Remmington and was glad to see that those days were over. This model (WDF5000) is a Wet or Dry razor. I have never used it Wet so I can't compare the shaves from Wet to Dry. It is fully submersible in water so if that is the way you want to use it, just be sure to let the razor dry out before returning it to the rechargeable station. Please remember that water and electricity do not mix! Be safe and not sorry!

I did notice after using this razor for the first couple of weeks that my skin was left very dry. The directions do state that it takes a couple of weeks for your skin to adjust to the razor. Just bring out the body lotion (like I did) and remedy the situation until your skin adjusts.

Overall I found the Remmington Smooth and Silky Shaver WDF5000 to provide a close shave and the ease of use is wonderful. No more getting out of the shower to say, "I forgot to shave". This unit gives you the wet-dry option. I find that the convenience of use to be the main seller on this razor and why I fell in love with it.
