Well first of all I would like to thank you as always for reading my review and taking the time to rate it. Now my main reason for purchasing this razor was because I had one made by Norelco that just stopped working after 6 months. Now I knew that Braun had been making razors for a very long time and that they were German made which is synonymous with high quality so I went to my local Best Buy and looked at their selection of razors. Well, this shaver immediately caught my eye because of its unusual design and the unusual base it rests in when not in use. After asking the salesperson working in that department about the razor I decided why not it cant hurt so off I went home with my brand new Braun Shaver.
* Ease Of Use
Well as odd as this may sound this is the easiest razor to use that I have ever owned. It is unlike my Norelco in the respect that it is much lighter and that you don't have to continuously run over the same place on your face and get razor burn in order to cut all of the hair. Also this razor requires no cleaning or lubrication which I will elaborate further on in the epinion. Among other things that make this razor easy to use is the accessories that come with it for travel. It comes with a clip on cover to prevent foil damage, a charging plug that fits into the base or directly into the shaver and a travel bag to keep all of these things together and not lose them. Last but certainly not least is the fact that with the high powered motor you can shave usually between 2 and 5 minutes and be completely clean shaven without a need for aftershave or have razor burn from repetitive shaving.

I had tried all of the above razors and none really worked all that well on my type of beard hair. I am half black so I have fairly curly hair which leaves me with a curly beard that is next to impossible to cut with an electric razor which is why I have gone through so many trying to find one that works!
* Closeness Of Shave
To be totally honest this shaver gives me a shave better than I was able to achieve with a regular blade. I did however notice that for the first week of use the razor seemed to pull the hair out instead of cutting it but it was not painful or anything. This turned out to be because I hadn't read my manual all the way through and found out that you are supposed to run the cleaning cycle before using the razor in order to lubricate it as to eliminate pulling. The other great thing about the closeness is that this shaver can actually get stubborn neck hairs in one pass. No more razor burn on your neck which is a blessing in itself. Even my girlfriend noticed a difference when I got this razor because it leaves my skin so much smoother than any of the others or a straight blade. The shave is also very smooth while shaving its not like you have to drag the shaver over your face in anyway. The foil is very smooth and glides well and doesn't warp or bend over your face instead the entire head moves to the contours of your face for a closer, smoother and more comfortable shave unlike other foil razors. I now can go usually 3 days between shaves with my Braun razor instead of shaving everyday like with the others I have tried. Last but not least I would like to mention the fact that this razor actually seems to cut the hair off below the surface of your skin instead of even with your skin. I think this has to do with the design of the foil that lifts the hair before it cuts it therefore cutting more of it off.
* Base Features
This in my opinion is one of the best things about this shaver. The base which it rests in is multifunctional. The base itself plugs into your normal outlet instead of the shaver plugging into the outlet. The base also houses the cleaning device. Now I know you are probably thinking "what? a cleaning device?" yes that's exactly what it is. When you place the shaver back in the base unit and close the charging latch the base unit automatically injects a hypoallergenic cleaning solution into the head of the shaver to wash away all hair and any bacteria and oil that may be on your shaver. This greatly reduces the work associated with electric razors because now everytime you are done shaving you don't have to clean your razor. This solution also acts as a lubrication for the razor aswell as a fragrance. Now the fragrance does not get onto your face after shaving but you can smell it while shaving and to me the smell is pleasant. Now every month or so you must buy new refill cartridges for the cleaning solution of you will not be able to clean your razor as this razor CAN NOT be cleaned with water! Last but not least the base acts as a charger as well once you have put your razor in the base properly you simply push down on a latch and this automatically starts the smart charging system. The smart charging system is a system that monitors how much charging is necessary and shuts off when the battery is full. This system is also a maintenance system. If you were to leave your shaver in the base for 1 week and the battery began to run down the base automatically charges it back up! Last but not least the base IS portable for travel. You open the base as to reveal the cleaning cartridge and insert the caps that came with it so that accidental tipping will not result in cleaning solution spillage!
* Overall Satisfaction
Overall I would give this shaver 10 out of 10 stars. It gives you a nice close shave, has long battery life and is self cleaning. What more could a man ask for! This razor is definitely one I will keep for many more years and one I will highly recommend to my friends and all of my fellow Epinions Members.
