Pros: Easy to clean, easy to fill
Cons: Plastic vent cover falls off when filling.
The Bottom Line: Excellent humidifier design. We are buying another one... for another room and will go with the Slant/Fin brand again. This time, a bigger one.

The idea of having ultra violet light "purify" the water sounds great. If it works, it's great, if not, it's a great marketing hoax. Anyway, it makes me feel better.
The Slant/Fin water reserve is easy to fill. It fits in my kitchen sink. I don't have to hold it while it fills like my previous one did. The parts (which are few) are easy to clean. There is no huge cloth-like filter (like some brands), to clean and replace. There is one small round "mineral absorption" pad in the hot water reservoir which needs to be watched. If it gets stiff and brittle, from hard water, it needs to be replaced. I have hard water, I have not yet replaced the pad, but the stainless steel hot water reservoir gets mineral build-up which needed to be scraped off. Which is a pain, but being that they were smart, and made is steel and scrapable, it wasn't too bad to clean.
Weekly cleaning consists of 1 cup of vinegar in the reservoir, a little bleach swished in the water reserve tank, and some scraping of deposits on the metal heating reservoir.
Not bad.
