Rhine River Cruise April 06
by ms_parker ,Aug 26 '06
Pros: The ship was just the right size get to know other passengers. Cons: More time needed in some of the cities. Perhaps an overnight.
This was my first cruise of any kind and I enjoyed the experience of seeing several cities without constantly changing hotels. My room was nice (I travelled alone and paid extra for a single) and all rooms had a window view. The ship was just the right size to get to meet most of the passengers.
The crew was young, attentive and our tour manager was knowledgeable. He prepared excellent materials prior to each days tour. The food was good and I liked the open seating in the dining room. It gave you the opportunity to mix and mingle.
The land tours were good. Although I wish we had more free to spend in some of the cities such as Strasbourg, France and Koblenz, Germany. I would definitely do another river cruise.

The only way to tour
by jon3es ,May 25 '05
Pros: Everything Cons: None
In May 2005 we took a one week tour of the Netherlands aboard the Uniworld MV River Empress. I can't say enough good things about our experience. The ship was outstanding, our cabin more than we expected, the service first rate, the food excellent, and the land tours well organized. Much care was given to guests with mobility problems. My wife and I will not hesitate to travel with Uniworld again.

Hooked on River Cruising!
by britcomgirl ,Sep 26 '05
Pros: Meals and all shore excursions are included in the costs. Unpack only once. Nonsmoking ship. Cons: Beginning and ending points of cruise are not always near major European airports.
My husband and I loved our Rhine river cruise aboard the River Queen. We had a great time. The food was wonderful. The staff was friendly and efficient. The cabin was very spacious. River cruising is definitely the best value and way to see Europe. We are planning on going on a Danube river cruise in October and can't wait to see the River Countess. Highly recommend!
