I will be the first to admit that I know basically nothing about tools. However, after reading the features on the DeWalt 18 Volt Cordless Drill, I decided to purchase this as a gift for my husband. FeaturesCompact size to fit ...

Pros: Powerful, comfortable grip, well balanced. Cons: Cheapo chuck that slips on an expensive drill.
I received this drill a year ago as a birthday present. I was very pleased to receive such a high quality tool: but that was until I used it. Although powerful, the chuck slips badly, even using brand new bits bits into wood. The hardest part of drilling ...

Your Dream Drill
by culley2002 ,Jul 07 '09
Pros: cordless, powerful Cons: expensive
This drill is like a tank -- it can take any abuse you hand it, and keep on rolling.
My kit came with the drill, 2 batteries, a charger, and a case.
I've owned it for approximately 5 years. I have the same two batteries that came with it. When i'm working, I have one sitting in the charger, and the other in the drill. One gets low on juice, I just swap them out.
I've dropped my drill by accident off a 10foot ladder several times (hit the ground, not pavement). Didn't even phase it in the least, and it fired right back up.
Though my batteries are original, and old, they still last for hours without starting to gasp for breath.
I have put in all kinds of screws with my drill. I've drilled all kinds of holes. I've even drilled a door lock hole into an old door I picked up at a salvage yard -- the door was made of solid oak. The drill didn't even pause.
