Pros: Gas Sipper. Low maintenance. Cons: Suspension. The Bottom Line: The bottom line: The Honda Civic is outstanding. Its great on gas too. Consumer reports ranked "1998" as the best year for this civic.
Out of the 7 cars I ever owned my 98 Honda civic was the best! This car took me from Arizona to California to Washington and then back to Florida. IT was a gas sipper! I never changed the timing belt, seals, transmission, clutch......nothing! ... read more

Pros: Reliable, Great Mileage. Cons: Road Noise, Manual windows are sticky, Hood rattle creates an annoying buzz when idle. The Bottom Line: This is a great vehicle for anyone with a tight budget. Its great on gas and requires very little repairs over and above general maintenance. Not recommended for long commutes
I have had my 98 civic for about 2 years now. I originally purchased it for $10,000 (CA) which I felt was a little high at the time. After I purchased it I soon discovered that it required a major maintenance service being at 98,000 kms. I took it to ... read more

Pros: Price, size, EX package very nice Cons: The dealership's service departments and electrical issues The Bottom Line: Good car for the first few years!! I'd buy another one.
Definitely an economy car, but I felt that it was nicely equipped. Not the zippiest car in the world, but again, didn't expect that it would be. Decent gas mileage, but not as good as Honda says it should be. I think that's usually the case with new ... read more

Pros: Smooth ride on highway. Decent gas mileage. Cons: Engine parts are popular with thieves due to VTEC. Dying before 100,000 miles. Not reliable. The Bottom Line: Buy a toyota instead.
Before I got my Honda, I had a Toyota that spoiled me. I had the Toyota for 10 years. It only stranded me a few times during those 10 years (due to battery and alternator problems). It was 5 years old when I bought it, so it lasted a good 15 years. ... read more
