Pros: Unparalelled. The James Bond of motorcycles- classy, yet will kick butt Cons: Weight on wrists (stock), windblast, insurance costs, recent recall.
Ever since I first laid eyes on a CBR1100XX Blackbird, I've wanted one. To me, it represented the holy grail of motorcycles- refinement, amazing power, and understated styling. Last March (2004), I purchased a brand new, still-in-box 2003 model with ...
Pros: fast comfortable stable reliable sexy Cons: aftermarket suspension, bar risers, and wind screen required
After 12 years with my BMW R100GS airhead I was looking for a reliable sport-touring bike without the BMW price tag and maintenance costs. At 6'3" I'm too tall for the Hayabusa or the FJ1300 (my knees hit the faring on both). The undying Concours was on ...
I am writing this review on the Honda CBR 1100xx. I have driven the 600F3
and I used to race it. I belive this is the best sports bike of it's time. then they made the 1100xx. Well lets just say with it's 1137cc duel overhead cam, liquid cooled...
Pros: fast, powerful, strong, need I say more? Cons: really big
The Honda CBR series is a great looking motorcycle line with plenty of perks and a long useful warranty. The best motorcycle all around is the 1100 XX. It has the looks, the speed, the power, and the size to make a really great bike. I also really like...
Pros: beautiful, linked-brakes really work, refined, fast, great for sport touring Cons: fuel mileage could be better
If purchasing an open class touring oriented sportbike were all about numbers, the 2001 Honda Dos Equis would certainly be at the top of most people’s lists. In an MCN comparison the CBR1100XX received high honors in several "ten-best" areas: top speed;...
Pros: Styling, power, handling, incredible acceleration Cons: long distance comfort
I really didn't intend to buy this bike. I already had a nice bike, a 1982 Suzuki 1100E. I have had this bike for over 15 years, and I only went to the shop for a new front tire. 20 minutes and I would be on my way, no problem. Right?
Pros: Fun, Fun, Fun!! Beautiful lines. An exquisite piece of machinery. Cons: For longer trips a ST style windscreen is a good idea
I have a 2001 Candy Apple Red Blackbird that I saw on the showroom floor and just had to have. I have read about them for years and was concerned that this might be too much bike for me at 62 years of age, but I was wrong. To me the most amazing ...
Pros: Style, Speed, Color, Price, Comfort, Stability, Smoothness Cons: not enough storage, cant ride it in the snow
This bike is the best I have ever ridden. At low speed and high, it is comfortable, smooth and sleek. The motorcycle is very understated, not overly flashy. The signal lights on the front of the side-view mirrors are unmistakable. This bike is classy...
Pros: Fit and finish; low maintenance; price Cons: None
First things first . . . this motorcycle is not for beginners or the faint of heart . . . only experienced two wheel addicts need apply. I purchased mine this past December 7, 2001. The 2000's color is much more exotic than the black of earlier models...
The most reliable bike I have ever had by chuckmobile ,Aug 11 '06
Pros: Total reliability, modest running costs, power, speed, handling, low maintenance costs, fun. Cons: Very difficult to say. Slightly softer seat perhaps?
I've been riding for 20 years now on all sorts of machinery, and as an all-rounder this is simply the best bike you can buy. The quality of the parts, the robust engineering and total reliability are for me beyond anything that any other bike manufacturer can match.
I commute to London on it every day, and its slim profile, smooth power delivery and massive torque make it as easy for me to wend my way through the traffic queues as the urban cowboys on their scooters. Take it out on the motorway and it behaves like a tourer; take it onto the country lanes and it switches into a sports bike. Simply amazing.
Add to the package the low servicing costs (and for the record the quality and care of the Honda franchises), the very reasonable price of spare parts and I am stumped to find anything significantly critical to say about it.
Pros: Smooth power delivery Cons: weight on wrists
Fast, smooth and a lot of fun.
This my first sports tourer after riding sports 600's and it's the best move I have made.
A decent tank range and easy power delivery make for fast fuss free riding in all weathers and road surfaces.
I ride a mixture of fast B roads and motorway work and the Bird handles all with ease.
If I still want that sports feel to my ride the Bird can still mix it with the best.
You wont go far wrong with these machines!
