Pros: Power, smooth engine, price, durability, and comfort. Cons: Lack of key features, needs additional options. Not for a novice rider.
I bought this bike because it was with in my budgetary constraints and it was one of the few bikes out there that a 6ֶ individual can ride comfortably. As an added bonus, this beast has an engine that will outperform all but the fastest bikes ...
Pros: Ride, power, stability, handling, looks, now... Cons: Too big to get through the front door.
I bought my 2000 Valkyrie in July of 2003. It had 10240 miles on it when I got it. Today is Oct 27 2004. I have had the bike for 1 year and 3 months and have put 12000 miles on it in that time. I have driven it from Amarillo, Tx to Indianapolis, to ...
Pros: Comfortable, fast, just sounds really cool coming down the street Cons: Too big for me
I have a Yamaha R6, and went out riding with a friend last week who has an R1. I went to meet him at the club he works at, and as we were walking outside, I heard a whole lot of noise. At first I was wondering what a pack of ground pounders were doing...
I put 9,000 miles on a gorgeous yellow valk in 12 months, including a 3,000-mile tour of Utah two-up. I bought her because I wanted a comfortable, reliable cruiser for two with attitude. And though she is The Queen of Smooth, very comfortable and...
Pros: Comfort of an old man's bike...Power of a kids bike! Cons: Heavy
I've owned several street bikes over the years, Honda's, Kawasaki's, Suzuki's, a Triumph and even a BSA. I've also ridden several other very impressive bikes that I didn't own.
The Honda Valkyrie is simply in a class by itself. I have...
Pros: Unique, eye-catching, intimidating motorcycle Cons: Huge, gas hungry motorcycle
I'm a compulsive guy. I shopped around a lot before I bought My '98 Honda Valk, trading in my smaller Honda. Here's the "updated" scoop that I can tell you after 14 months of ownership (9-02 to 12-03) and lots of pleasant riding. (1) It's a ...
I'll admit it up front, I don't actually own a Valkyrie. But I have been blessed enough to spend many happy hours and miles aboard several examples of this bike, which I consider to be THE motorcycle. But rather than spend my remaining words gushing...
Honda Valkyrie. The Fat Lady, the dragon or what ever you want to call her is quite a girl. 1520 cc's of raw power. Responsive off the line...but wait. At 2400 rpm's you better hold on. The cams and the six carburetors take full charge of your immediate...
Pros: Low Center-of-gravity, smooth power, stable in corners Cons: not for vertically challenged, this is a big boys bike
Recently I had a great experience, I was given a Honda Valkyrie as a loaner bike while my classic Honda was in the shop for an overhaul. Due to this, I will be purchasing a Valkyrie this coming spring. When the dealer gave me the keys, he said,...
Pros: Big, smooth, powerful, and down right beautiful Cons: gas mileage
I have been riding bikes since 1966, when for my 13th birthday, my dad bought me a brand new black 305 Honda dream (wish I had that classic now :-) Anyway, since then I have rode Harley's, English bikes, crotch rockets and for the last 26 years, ...
Pros: POWER (LOTS!), COMFORT, DEPENDABILITY, STYLE, CORNERING AND PERFORMANCE. Cons: WEIGHT, TIRE WEAR.
My wife and I purchased our new Valkyrie in South Florida and moved to NW Pennsylvania a year later. I have been riding since 1971, and my last new Honda was a 1978 GL1000 Gold Wing. Our Valkyrie is configured as a "naked" sport/tourer with no bags, ...
Pros: Reliability, power, style Cons: Honda dealerships for service
When I got back into riding a few years back, I wanted a Harley like everyone else. After riding for a couple of years I decided that I wanted to ride something different than the majority of the crowd was riding. Reliability was a huge issue with me...
Pros: Handling, Braking, and Power Cons: Gas Mileage and Rear Tire Wear
When you first look at Honda's Valkyrie you are somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer size of it. it is rather large and heavy by most motorcycle standards. But that is overcome by the beast's handling, braking, and tractability. It comports itself very...
Pros: Heavy-duty iron for medium road trips. Sure to impress the techno crowd. Cons: Bulky, fair gasoline mileage, raspy exhaust note (modified muffler).
Recommended: Yes
Bottom Line: A large, aggressive head turner sure to be the center of attention wherever it is. A technical triumph for Honda - give them credit, It is a winner.
Another model conquered. I rode with Tucson Motorsports...
Pros: It's huge!, power up the "whazoo", Six cylinders!, 6 into 6 exhaust Cons: Expensive
That Honda Valkyrie is one of the sweetest new bikes there is. It is awesome. I just love the idea of a humongous six cylinder bike. It echoes back to the day of the Honda CBX and Kawasaki KZ 1300 (email me if anyone has one for sale for relatively...
Pros: Smooth, powerful and comfortable Cons: Tires wear out quick. It could use a gas gauge and center stand.
I didn't know I had been searching for 40 years to find the best all around bike, but once I found it...I knew I had been. Usually, when you buy a bike, you find yourself wanting more...and thus you "move up" to a better bike. When you find the...
Pros: Powerful, smooth, beautifully balanced, excellent quality in construction Cons: 34-38 MPG on highway, 10k or less tire life.
The Honda Valkyrie is the true road bike. Incredible power at the flick of the throttle. Nothing can compete on the road. quite, smooth, superbly balanced and the ability to go from zero to euphoria in 7 seconds or less. At this point in my life, I...
have had 34 motorcycles in my life time, all the bad boys,am 55 yrs old
and sort of slowing down a little.the valkyrie fit my needs perfect,
lots of power from the bottom end,can even turn corner and leave in
high gear if the need be.pulls...
Nothing on the road quite like the dragon. Owned in excess of 20 motorcycles since 1962, and this is the king. Was riding my 1500 Vulcan one day, and stumbled into a motorcycle mega mall. Was actually thinking about possibly picking up another Goldwing...
Pros: Handles like a 500,smooth,comfortable,well balanced, very quiet, excellent chrome & excellent designed bike Cons: Slight whine sound at 40-50 mph, is the only bad feature.
Well I have been riding for 32 years. Started with HD in 1968. Went back and forth a few times..Harley then Honda & back.
Since 1975 I have always thought the Gold Wing was best bike on road but never wanted one. I saw the Valkyrie at a N.Y....
Honda VALKYRIE, say it and it just rolls off your tongue. This bike is a true work of art. It has a monster engine with 6 cylinders and 6 carbs. For goodness sake, this thing has a V-6. I dont own a valkyrie but this is the bike that I think anyone...
Pros: Totally awesome!!! smooth ride great looks Cons: fuel mileage
I've owned about a dozen bikes. I've been riding for over 30 years, The Valkyrie is by far the best I've ever ridin.
There are leftover new 99's and 2000's out there that are very reasonably priced. I got mine for about $3000 less than a 2001. The...
Pros: Power, Handling, Style like no other. Cons: If you stop on a long trip, you'll be swamped by admirers full of questions!
There is no motorcycle on the planet like the Valkyrie - period. No other cruiser moves as much mass as quickly, as gracefully, and with as much unique styling.
I've always leaned towards performance oriented bikes which is why I never had a...
Pros: Fast, powerful, looks great, very comfortable. Cons: Gas hog, heavy, tricky to deal with at low speeds.
Having owned various smaller (750cc) rice-burners in the past I wanted something bigger and more powerful this time around. After much shopping around, research, talking with other riders, and a whole lot of sitting on motorcycles in just about every...
Best bike i have ever owned by schwenkb ,Jul 05 '07
Pros: Power to burn, head turner, easy to ride, flat out fun Cons: Wife hates bikes. Is that a con?
This bike is a pleasure. I have ridden it on 400 mile a day trips and my butt is not numb. Never had and mechanical problems to speak of. Do not be intimidated by the size and wight of this bike. It is very easy to ride due to the low center of gravity. It does eat front tires though. 6000 miles is about all you get. I replaced the factory junk tires with avon venom r's. The bike rides a ton better. I put on a honda windshield and feel hardly any wind pressure on my body at highway speeds.
