Super fast
by cesareslt ,Aug 15 '07
Pros: Fast and comfortable Cons: pegs, gas tank
I recently purchased an 02 model. I have to admit, before the Marauder I had never operated a motorcycle in my life. I am 6'1" 235lb and this bike has no problem handling my size. After about 5 min of teaching myself to ride, it felt as if I had been riding it for years. It sits very comfortably and low enough to the ground to give me good control of the bike when stopped. I have yet to open it up fully on the highway, although I am certain it will go plenty fast. There are aftermarket cobra pipes on it and is sounds great. My wife is just thrilled. haha. I have read alot of negative reveiws on the seat, but it feels very comfortable. The only downside I have noticed is the positioning and size of the footpegs. I wish they were foward a little bit more and had a bit more room inbetween the shifter. Although I do have a fat size 13 foot, so it is probably perfect for the majority of you. Other than that the bike is everything I was expecting and plenty more.

Great first bike!
by avelinor ,Sep 04 '06
Pros: Great starter bike, decent power, excellent stability and not too big for beginners. Cons: More experienced riders will want more power, clunk when shifting, stock seat too uncomfortable.
This spring I got my motorcycle license and the next day I bought a used 2003 Marauder. I really like this bike a lot. It was easy to ride from the start and I love the stability of it, even in high cross winds. It has enough power for me though after riding it for 3 months and 3000 miles I can understand that for more experienced riders it may not be enough. This is definitely a great handling bike and stylish. I would definitely recommend this bike to anyone who is starting out and wants a cruiser. One of the bigger downsides to this bike was the stock seat. I changed it for a Mustang seat that's super comfortable.

Marauder 1998
by rockywr2 ,Dec 03 '04
Pros: Power Torque Style Easyturning EasyRiding Cons: The seat - why can't we have a seat like the Intruder range (it's huge)
Just bought (2nd/3rd hand) a VZ800W paid a bit over the top but then here in Cyprus it's a normal 'thing'.
The seat is the same as in every view - original seat was made softer by a local 'back-street, upholsterer' but by the time it's got to me - it's too soft. Not wanting to go down the road of making it like a brick - i'm going to try and get it a little more padding (still soft though) and also a wider seat for the pillion (wife) as we're set to do some island cruising next summer.
Incidentally my first motor bike was a Suzuki - TC100 back in 1974, I've only had two other bikes since then so it was nice to get the 'bug' again - although I'm getting on, I don't like the super-bikes that are around and this one just said "come ride me, but get a new seat".

Awesome Bike
by bkr1220 ,Aug 08 '08
Pros: Alot of chrome, looks better than most harleys, good power
Great starter bike! Cons: None at this time
Bike is excellent, when i first purchased it I had a problem, the rear air box was filing up with oil. Simple fix, disconnect the hose that goes from the rear carb to the air box and let it just hang. The carb was sucking so hard it was pulling oil and fuel from the crank case and filling up the air box.
