Pros: Quiet, easy to learn to ride on, a Vespa through and through. Tons of character. Cons: Lackluster performance....easily "outgrown" by most riders.
poor re-sale, trade-in value.
I am a scooterist....2 vintage scooters, as well as 2 "new school" Vespas, an ET-4 and an ET-2. No, I'm not wealthy or eccentric, I've been messing with vintage Vespas for years, and purchased an new ET-4 in 2002 as did my wife. I am writing this review ...
Pros: Robust, safe, quality, looks Cons: Somewhat expensive, a bit slow
I bought my black Vespa et2 two months ago. I am living in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), so I am riding the European version of this scooter, however, the soon to be released American version of the Vespa et2 is almost the same (some minor details...
Pros: More substance than the plastic scooters Cons: Cost is high but value is there
My girlfriend and I were looking at options for a small motorcycle as optional transport for a VW Westfalia camper we are restoring to new. Quite by accident we came upon the what I later learned was a Vespa Boutique dealer. I had owned a Lambretta when...
Pros: Style, comfort and safety Cons: Speed and cost of spares
I've owned a Vespa ET2 for about eight months now and have already covered 7,000 miles on it. As a fan of the 'old style' scooters I wanted something modern but that had classic looks. I use the scoot for commuting and cover about 40 miles a day...
Pros: Comfort, reliability, handling, mpg, style, amenities, Vespa history, TURN SIGNAL Cons: I wish I had a longer commute.
Let me begin by saying that I've owned 4 motorcycles and three scooters leading up to this purchase, so it's fair to say I have a decent amount of experience judging what makes one bike better or worse than another. My last ...
Pros: Styling, seat comfort, handling, lots of fun Cons: a bit pricey, turn signal button
Vespa has enjoyed a long tradition of making fine scooters for getting around town. The newest Vespa, the ET2, is an excellent continuation in this tradition.
The Vespa ET2 is the ideal scooter. It is great looking, handles well, accelerates...
Pros: Great style, quality built, Comfortable, No plastic-toy Cons: I guess the fuel-economy could be better. That would save you a nickle every fortnight
This is my first Vespa... Secondhand, with 3000 km on the clock, I paid 1000 USD for it. Soon after I had it fully derestricted (removing both the restriction in the gearbox and the exhaust), so now it goes around 70 km/h on the flat while getting 22 ...
Pros: Handling, MPG, storage, reliability Cons: 2-up top speed. Overpriced.
I'm a motorcycle and scooter owner. I ride the scooter to work in Manhattan from Jersey City. The motorcycle doesn't get ridden as much as the scooter. i've been riding continuously for the past 14 years and really do find the ET2 adequate for ...
Pros: zippy acceleration, blast to ride, mpg, tons of accessories, makes you sexier Cons: seat lock can break easily, center bikestand can be a pain, it's not free
Bought this as my first scooter because I got a job that's geographically close to my house but there's almost no public transport near it, I was having to take cabs (!) or do the nearly hour long walk. Just a terrific scooter, it zips up to 45 real fast ...
Pros: Fun fun fun! and stylish, easy to ride. Cons: Can't think of a thing.
It's easy to ride, stylish, fun, did I mention fun? I had no scooter experience prior to buying the ET2 - it was easy to learn, it goes fast enough for me (40mph is faster than posted limit on most of the streets I drive on anyway.) It's easy to have a passenger, there's room for cargo, it feels stable and safe, and it's comfortable. Where I live no motorcycle license required. I love it!
Pros: Styling
Options
Steel construction
Handling and Braking
Comfort Cons: Turn signal (as mentioned in another review)
After looking mainly at Chinese and Taiwanese scooters and some of the Japanese ones (which are generally made in China) the opportunity came up to buy a second hand 2005 Vespa ET2 with only 1,100km on it.
Just jumping on it and feeling the solid construction and the fact that it wasn't a midget bike meant I was sold almost straight away.
With this engine size it will never have lightning performance, but for what it is, it is very good. It gets off the mark surprisingly well despite the weight penalty of a steel body. Braking and handling are very good, with the front disk brake ensuring that you have no trouble pulling up from the speeds this little scooter will do.
It took me about 2 weeks to work out the turn signals as to cancel them I was frequently turning them on in the opposite direction. To cancel push the switch down, not across and they cancel no problems.
The handling is excellent and the scooter copes very well with any bumps and holes in the road. A great range of accessories is also available for it.
Pros: Beautiful lookingSolid and stableCheap to runStorageParks anywhereBigger than other 50CCs Cons: Mirror bolt tends to loosen occasionallyReplaced foot stand (it snapped off)
I sold my car in 2003 and bought a Vespa ET2....black and tan. I use it daily for my commute to work. It's got heaps of storage space. I even can carry my bass and amp on it to gigs!! It is fast enough (70kms an hour on the flat and 55 uphill.) It doesn't cost much to fill up (about $7) and that keeps me going for ten days. Services are cheap and I can take my wife to the movies on it and we always get a park. I've recently added a baby moon hubcap, chrome fender guard and steel mirrors and my Audrey looks prettier than ever.
Pros: Pros would be that it's Classy, Comfortable, Easy to use, & so many many perks! Cons: It's a scooter, don't take it on a super long ride.
This scooters like the luxury version of scooters. I bought mine brand new in 2002 and use it every summer. It's a perfect way to save on gas, money & a good excuse to get outdoors in the summer time. I first used it for college (front row parking) and now use it to run around town for errands. I think it's the best money I've ever invested into a vehicle.
