The V-Rod is not your grand father's cruiser!

by cspu Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 500, Sep 02 '03
Pros: Awesome power, transmission, great looks, comfort.
Cons: Mirrors, sluggish handling, ignition location, price.
The V-Rod is a departure from the Harley Davidson image. A lot of die hard HD fans don't like it... ...

by mrbios , Oct 08 '06
Pros: Quality, Modern liquid cooled engine, performance, frame, looks
Cons: lean angle, gas tank, rear-brake noise, hard clutch-pull, front brake lever travel
PROS: Quality, Modern liquid cooled engine, performance, frame, looks. CONS: Cornering lean angle, gas tank (fill up every 60 to 80 miles), rear-brake noise, hard clutch-pull, front brake lever travel, Price: it’s assumed you have deep “we ...

The Good, the Bad, The V-Rod

by Artizan , Sep 12 '04
Pros: Fast and fun to ride. It's a Harley!
Cons: 3.7 gallon gas tank under the seat.
Harley finally gave us a fast bike. Since I'm not a Buell fan, I'll discount those from the outset. (I personally think that design teams should start from the ground up, rather than stick half a Sportster engine in a new frame and call it a new bike). ...

Oh, Daddy! Mama WANTS a V-ROD!

by hularider , Feb 05 '04
Pros: Beautiful, elegant bike, easy to ride
Cons: Pipes are a pain. But they can be swapped.
When I first saw the V-Rod, I was unimpressed. The styling seemed like a wannabe Yamaha. But the more I looked, the more I liked. Beautiful sweeping curves, grace and elegance in motion. I gradually fell in love. Finally, on Christmas Eve, my ...

V-Rod for Life

by riano , Dec 22 '04
Pros: Astonishing looks, brutish thrust, custom-tailored riding position.
Cons: Oddly placed exhaust pipe; unpredictable radiator fan.
I purchased my V-Rod at the Harley-Davidson Dealership in Las Vegas, NV on October 13th, 2004. Before I even got if off the showroom floor, I already had the first of many offers to buy it. By the time I pulled out of the dealership parking lot, I knew ...

Stunning execution in machine design!!!

by dsinned , Nov 25 '05
Pros: 115HP, watercooled, Revoluton engine, modern electronics, dazzling chrome, silvery good looks, self-cancelling turn signals
Cons: LCD visibility, no tools/storage space, smallish capacity fuel tank, no sidestand in-gear safety switch
Harley finally created a radically designed, but still beautifully styled, performance cruiser. Stunningly yet uniformly styled in sterling silver-like, all aluminum, stunning body works, with lots of trademark Harley chrome trim. Choosing (wisely) to ...

Gotta Love It

by dickythestump , Apr 25 '03
Pros: Engine, styling, entire concept for HD
Cons: Range, short rear suspension travel
I too was struck by the V-rod's styling when it first came out. I was not looking for another motorcycle but had to have one since it was the first ever HD water-cooled bike. Anyway, I was not expecting to like the bike as I am around 40 with kids, no...

Maximum pucker factor!

by tidetracker , Feb 12 '03
Pros: Fabulous engine
Cons: aside from the engine, pretty mediocre
I rented a Harley V-Rod down in West Palm Beach, FL last month, and thought I would share my impressions, for those considering buying the bike.

At the outset, just looking at the bike is like candy to the eyes. The fit and finish of the...

V-Rod...oh yea, BABY!!!

by vrodbart , Mar 05 '02
Pros: Fit & finish, performance and looks in a class all its own!
Cons: Short mileage on a tank of gas and too many dealers gouging the price.
On a routine day back in July (or was it June?) I drug myself to another day at the office. Not much going on that morning so I took a look at Harley-Davidson's web site and there it was...this can't be real. I had never owned a HD before, but I knew...

VRod talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk

by chrishoward , Nov 02 '04
Pros: Looks, looks looks and err... looks.
Cons: No anti theft device, dangerous exhaust, agricultural gearbox, small fuel tank PRICE
I fell in love with the VRod the first time I saw one four years ago. Knew I'd never be able to afford one, £14,000 in the UK, I had to settle for renting one for a day. That's when it got disappointing. My first gripe was the Mickey Mouse ignition ...

Simply the best motorcycle available

by musone , Jul 06 '05
Pros: beauty and power
Cons: battery lasts 2 years if not tended
I came on epinions out of curiosity and was astonished to see non-favorable ratings pertaining to this bike. Then I realized all the non-favorable ratings were from folks that don't actually own a VRod! So I'm taking the time to post my own review --- ...

2004 VROD exceeded my expectations

by bmeister , Aug 23 '04
Pros: Looks (VRSCB, black on black) Engine (liquid-cooling) Power (smooth velvet-hammer) Handling (low center of gravity)
Cons: Price point higher than I think it should be. MSRP should be $15,000 IMHO.
I've been off of motorcycles for over 12 years and got the itch to buy a Harley and ride again. After experiencing only Japanese bikes (my last bike was a GPZ-550), I was looking for the traditional V-twin cruiser, particularly the Softail Deuce. I ...

V-Rod Harley's beauty

by the-bruzer , Mar 21 '02
Pros: New style/look, Stainless Steel break lines, solid rims, performance engine.
Cons: Small gas tank, small passenger seat, small factory saddlebags.
Welcome the future of Harley Davidson! This radical new design is so beautiful most people fall in love with its looks. Some older traditional Harley enthusiasts don't care for its liquid cooled engine ... until they ride it.

I only have 53...

Why should I pay twice as much for American made?

by awiedel , Mar 18 '03
Pros: Beautiful and Stylish
Cons: Price
This is a fantastic motorcycle. All of the research, visits to showrooms and e-mail that I have read always lead back to "WOW, what a motorcycle". However my problem is the price.

I'm not opposed to paying for a quality motorcycle, but why...

Great bike but....

by poplifedc , Apr 15 '03
Pros: Style, form, feel, power.
Cons: Function.
The gas tank is too small. At 3.7 gallons I get about 60 miles on one tank with city driving and about 100 miles on one tank with highway driving.

The stops are too frequent when just joyriding on the weekends and unreasonable for long...
