Pros: Unique styling, awesome performance and custom look Cons: haven't found any during past month
This is one of the best looking bikes on the market today. The bike is exceptionally beautiful and must be seen at the dealer or on the street. It is much nicer than the photo makes it appear.
Pros: Looks, handling, power and brakes. Cons: Getting accustomed to the footpeg position.
I just brought my new Road Star Warrior home tonight and what a thrill! I couldn't wait to get back on it and take it out on the local curvy county roads in the area. I was a Yamaha Royal Star owner for almost two years and this was like changing from...
Pros: Power, comfort, style, performance, and price Cons: rear pegs a bit high for passenger
After looking at many bikes in publications, and visiting many dealerships of different makes, including Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Harley Davidson, and Ducati, I made the fateful trip to Yamaha.
As soon as I sat on the Warrior I knew this was...
Pros: Great low end torque, superbike handling, custom bike look Cons: Aftermarket pipes not yet available
As soon as I saw the picture on the cover of the motorcycle magazine given to me by my friend, I knew I had to see one in person. As I pulled into the parking lot of the dealership I saw it being pulled up to the door by the mechanic. The bike had just...
Pros: everything except what's mentioned below .. the beauty of this beast is it's balance Cons: If you do a lot of two up riding, plan on making some mods.
See the Warrior in person. Pictures do not convey the visual impact this thing has when seen first hand. I would want this bike on looks alone even if it performed like a dog.
But ... if there was also a bike that performed like the Warrior...
Pros: Powerful solid motor,Quick cornering,Unique aluminum frame,Solid quality,Strong sound,Best sport-cruiser blend,Underpriced. Cons: -None found in 10,000 miles.
I came home on military leave looking at a few different makes and models of bikes from Honda, Harley, Kawasaki, and YAMAHA. I had been reading about the VTX, Warrior, and the Mean-Streak in articles for a few months. All three of the bikes above and ...
Pros: Great looks, massive torque, turns everyones head, great profile. Cons: Comfort on long rides
Went into the local Yamaha dealer so a buddy could show me this bike. I looked at the massive pipe and told him "that thing is ugly". 30 seconds later I wanted one. I could not take my eye off its looks, its huge motor and the massive back tire. I went...
Pros: Has a custom look. One can customize even more with time and money.
Cons: Little bitty passeneger seat and passenger foot pegs.
Accessories are high dollar.
My first choice was the VMax, but my wife said it was ugly.
I showed her the RW and she liked it.
I called around first to the local dealers about pricing and availability.
One dealership jacked me around, took my credit report promising...
Pros: price,ergonomics,style,power,reliability
handling Cons: none that I can think of to be totally honest
After having ridden only the fastest of sportbikes for 20 years, I never dreamed the thought would ever cross my mind to put my behind in the saddle of a cruiser, for obvious reasons.
I recently came to the realization that we all get older and...
Pros: Distinct Look, Clean lines and finish, handling and torque are right there Cons: I really haven't found any since purchasing it in Jan
I have not found anything that I do not like about the bike, well maybe the footpeg location for the passenger. I have grown to even like the muffler. This past weekend, I purchased a set of Vance & Hines Pro Pipes 2 into 1 and it looks like I have...
Pros: Quality, value, looks, torque and handling. Cons: The dreaded Yamaha backorder syndrome.
I like my Warrior too, but after reading the other reviews, I've come to the conclusion that the previous reviewers are Yamaha corporate PR guys.
This is a great bike, no doubt, it does have it's flaws, just like every other machine out there has flaws.
I don't regret buying my 2003 model. I think I got a good deal and a damn good bike. At 4,500 miles, I've had no problems, other than the pesky transmission recall.
Be aware that the riding position is a bit stretched for most riders. Replacing the handlebars with a set that provides more pull-back is a common modification. The seat is also the target of much disdain. So uncomfortable, it's usually the first thing to go. Then there's the muffler. I kind of liked the looks of it, but finally opted, as most do, for something that will alert other motorists of my presence more effectively.
As stated previously, it's a great bike, but not a perfect bike. It is hard to beat this "cruiser" in the looks, performance and value departments.
Pros: Test ride one - you'll see (bring your checkbook) Cons: tranny update required on early models/ sparse passenger accoutraments from factory- remedied with $
Incredibly fast and nimble power cruiser. Will run down most any V-twin out there. Looks great comfortable to ride. Now (2006) has full complement of Yammie and aftermarket accessories. Look at RSwarrior website. Buy two for less than the cost of a Vrod.
