I have a 2004 R1150RT (piedmont Red) sport touring bike. I have put about 1,800 miles as of this writing and have enjoyed every minute.
This motorcycle is absolutely superb. The 6-speed boxer twin engine with the 2-spark design is smooth, quick and responsive.The telelever front suspension provides a very smooth ride and will not dive during a quick stop. The ABS brakes are great and in my opinion should be standard on all bikes of this type (Thank You BMW). The electronically controlled windshield can be adjusted while riding with the touch of a button which allows for excellent protection at high speeds and a real sport feel for those great curves. The fairing provides excellent protection for your legs and the heated hand grips will take the chill off a cool day.The instruments are easy to read with a quick glance. The hard bags are easily removed if desired and give the bike a sportier look.
This bike comes with a three year warranty as well as roadside assistance. I would recommend this bike for an experienced rider as well as a novice who wants a great sport touring bike. Its a BMW!!! ENJOY THE RIDE!!!!
