Pros: Larger 4.5 gal fuel tank, Nifty oil tank cap, Harley sound Cons: Vibration - unless that's your thing, then it's a pro

My Harley
by hhonts ,Apr 06 '06
Pros: Fast, light, nimble, and dependable Cons: no saddle bags are easily attached,
In May of 2004 I started looking for a good street bike to ride to work, and to tool around on during the weekends. I had had my heart set on a Harley Low Rider, remembering the 1987 Sportster I had back in the late 80's early 90's. I happened on this 100th Anniversary (2003) Sportster 1200 Custom, and immediately fell in love. Very fast, very smooth, light, not too much vibration and very affordable. I can find no fault, Harley Davidson has continued to improve the EVO line of motors and this is one fine bike.

2003 Anniversary Sportster
by soundstage1 ,Apr 27 '08
Pros: Sharp looking, nimble, plenty of power, and NO vibration at highway speeds. Cons: None so far.
Just happened upon a 2003 (XL 1200)100'th anniversary Sportster with only 4000 miles. The price was right, and after owning a "77" XLH (back in "84"),thought...Why not? Best decision Ive made in a while! What a difference! Im 6'1" tall, and fit on this bike comfortably. It has much more power, and practically no vibration at highway speeds than the older model. I traveled all over the country with the old model, and only had to tighten the rear chain one and a while. This one is belt drive, so I dont see that happening. Funny thing....I was riding with some other Harley owners the other day on interstate 95, and cruising right along at 70mph with the bigger "Sofa-Glides" vibration FREE, and with plenty of power to spare! The upside here is, no-one is calling me "Dirt-Bike-Mike anymore!
