Pros: Lots of power and torque; great center of gravity! Cons: Tribal look for some is not appealing; relatively heavy bike.
My story: Back in the late spring of 2007, I decided I wanted to start riding, due to the high cost of gas, and the thrill of having the wind go through my hair. In the beginning, I bought a Honda Elite Scooter, then on to a 2006 Honda Rebel. ...
Pros: Looks, Comfort, Power, handling, smoothness, reliability Cons: Small back seat, few plastic covers need to be steel
I am a 46 year young man 5' 6", 180 LBS. I started to ride motorcycles no more than 3 months ago on a beautiful 2002 Vulcan EN 500 LTD. I took the motorcycle safety class twice, yes you heard me right, twice. I needed to build up my skill set and ...
Pros: Excellent handling and style, good price and performance Cons: Not as fast as it looks.
I have a 2002 Mean Streak (red of course, just like the picture). This is an awesome bike. I have over 9,000 miles on this bike and have ridden it for a little over 2 years. I also graduated from a Vulcan 500 just like another reviewer on this ...
Pros: Who is driving that beast, Jesus I want to ride on that bike. Cons: I'm still looking.
Dad just got this bike about a week ago and it is the sickest cruiser I haver ever ridden. My dad researched all the cruisers out on the market for a whole week to find the best bike overall. He found that it was the Kawasaki 1500 Mean Streak that ...
Best all-around bike ever! by screaminmeanie ,Mar 04 '04
Pros: Styling, handling, braking, price. Cons: A few plastic pieces that really should be replaced with chrome or steel.
This is not the fastest bike made, even though sitting still it looks pretty close to it. It is the best-handling cruiser on the market today, and perhaps ever. With sportbike forks and brakes, it is a joy to ride in the city, on the highway, or in the twisties. It's got enough torque to make your stomach flip on take-offs. Bottom line, it is fun, fun, fun to ride!
If you want to drag race, this is not the right bike, but if you love long-distance cruising and canyon-carving, you can't beat this bike for style, handling, and comfort.
Pros: Kawasaki reliability, value, handling and style (except for dumb tribal stickers on tank). Cons: Not very modifiable, akward foot peg positioning might leave you stiff and uncomfortable.
Bought bike used in 2004 with 3,000 miles on it. Since that time have put 17,000 miles on her. Pros= Extremely stable at high speeds (in excess of 100mph), best brakes on ANY cruiser and I rode all the "sport" ones made then and since, outstanding handling and suspension for quick turn ins and cornering. Cons= very noisey engine, not really condusive to aftermarket modifications to exhaust and air intake (power commander shorts out mother board and the TFI unit I have installed only works marginally well), allot of plastic "chrome",speedometer reads 7 mph too high, bad tribal graphic stickers put on tank (tribal was cool in like '95, now just looks dated and dorky). Good bike for reliability but with air intake and exhaust mods, must use full choke when starting machine and must high idle for several minutes before warmed up. Ergonomics not bad for trips under 300 miles in one day, over that and various things start nagging at your body. Would recommend bike to friends but tell them to leave the engine stock.
