Pros: Great gas and sound system Cons: Its a small car, with limited handling ability The Bottom Line: I would suggest looking the Aveo, if you are just looking for an inexpensive vehicle; provided you do not mind limited handling.
The tiny car, offers exceptional gas mileage at a low price. However, by not offering leg room to backseat passengers, the use of the vehicle will be greatly limited when travelling with average sized people. If you live north of the Mason Dixon Line, I ... read more

Pros: Cute, Quiet, Roomy Interior, Upright Seating, Zippy Enough, Cheap to repair/ insure, Perfect City Runabout. Cons: Improve MPG, seat comfort, armrest, cruise for longer trips, etc. The Bottom Line: Great City Runabout Vehicle, with Repair Available Nationwide at Chevy/GM Dealers. Made and refined by Daewoo for years, now available here as GM bought Daewoo.
We needed a car with excellent gas mileage/cheap to fix/practicality for those short "dollar store" trips, or taking the kids to school, city work commute, run to church, etc. We wanted to keep the miles off of my Honda Pilot SUV, as it is a nice, ... read more

Pros: Interior room; Fuel Economy; Initial Acquisition Cost; Performance Cons: No Cruise Control; Lack of after-market accessories and suppport by Chevrolet. The Bottom Line: I love it and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
Base Aveo model with Auto Transmission and spoiler being the only options. Purchased in October 2004 and driven 17, 212 miles. I think Chevy and GM are missing the boat by not promoting this little car enough. I couldn't help but notice that the three ... read more

Pros: Peppy, responsive engine. Solid feel. Different looking, large amount of room for passengers and cargo. Cons: Can't think of any! The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car for any use - tooling around town, highway driving or carting kids around!
I bought this car in July of 2004 because if its so-ugly-it's-cute looks! I wanted something that looked different than all the Focus clones out there. Although I test-drove an automatic trans, I knew the 5-speed manual would be even better. Was I ... read more

Love this little car. My girl calls it the "Happy Car." I cannot say enough about the first 3000 miles of this little peppy toy. Glad I took it over the Focus or the Scion... Updated on 3/24/05 When I first drove this car I fell in love with it. ... read more

Pros: Nice styling, fun to drive with reasonable economy Cons: Smallish tires, ABS should be standard. The Bottom Line: I feel that some reviewers have been hard on this car. It's no BMW, but is sure does provide reliable transportation on a budget.
I purchased an Aveo 5 in March of 2004. This vehicle was to replace the 2000 New Beetle TDI that was our previous second car. The primary diver for this car is my 20 year old daughter. At half the price, she prefers the Aveo. Lucky me! Perhaps it is the ... read more

From the second I saw this car, I loved it, and I had to have it. Luckily, for around $11,000, I got it almost fully loaded with the CD/MP3 player, rear spoiler, air conditioning, and carpeted floor mats. It also has some neat detailing on the side. I ... read more

Pros: It's cheap. Cons: Everything else. The Bottom Line: You're better off with a used car. If you NEED a new car, look into the Scion XA... power everything standard for only a couple thousand more.
When I heard that Chevrolet was releasing a sub $11,000 car I had to go drive one. I was actually a HUGE fan of the Suzuki-made Geo Metro (a.k.a. Suzuki Swift) because of their go-kart like fun-to-drive factor. No power brakes, no power steering, ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No
Pros: Soft and comfortable ride, decent interior space, composed and unstressed demeanor over the road. Cons: Rubbery shifter hangs up easily, lackluster engine, pronounced body lean, imprecise steering, cheap interior materials. The Bottom Line: The Aveo is a good choice for budget buyers who prioritize ride comfort and the "low-pulse-rate" feel of a bigger car. Agggressive drivers and interior-quality sticklers need not apply.
My Experience I test-drove a Chevrolet Aveo 5-speed hatchback at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about half an hour and covered city streets, the freeway, and a winding secondary road. Performance The Aveo's performance ... read more

Not good for passengers, but inexpensive if you can't afford more than this.
