Pros: Great ride, space for everything, DVD system
Cons: Sliding door problems
The Bottom Line: If you need a family cruiser with plenty of room, plenty of storage and a great DVD system - you found it. Just watch the doors...

We've owned several mini-vans over the last 10 years. All were GM-Chevy or Pontiac. Almost two years ago, we purchased a new Ford Freestar. We wanted the most room possible, a good ride, and a DVD system for our four kids. The Freestar overall has ...

Pros: Lots of room, automatic sliding doors
Cons: hard on gas
The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend this minivan to anyone with children or someone with need for lots of space.

I am first to admit that the idea of driving a mini van sent shivers up my spine, but after having it for jut 2 weeks I can really look back and laugh at my stupidity. The van has so many features that come in so handy its hard to figure out where to ...

Pros: Good mileage, very comfortable, Easy access to storage, Great cargo capacity!
Cons: Need help to restore back bench seat after folding it into the floor.
The Bottom Line: Strongly recommend, because it is a great vehicle. Good mileage, great cargo, comfortable seating for all. And the storage spaces are great for packrats like me!

I am a member of a Ford family. In fact, our family still has a 1927 Model T in our possession. We are the only family to own it. It was passed from my grandfather to my greatgrandfather and now to my mom. Don't even ask what we would take for it. It is ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Stylish compared to the standard minivan everyone puts out.
Cons: Gas mileage is fairly poor and brakes iffy.
The Bottom Line: Minivans are handy but gas mileage sucks. This one is fine to buy.

I bought a 2004 Freestar SES as an extra vehicle new at the end of the 2005 model year. It never sold at the dealer and I got a great deal on it. I already have a Lincoln Towncar and a VW Turbo Beetle so the van was meant for hauling and commuting. I ...

Pros: Nothing any longer
Cons: Sliding doors; Rear AC; Rear DVD Player; TRANSMISSION
The Bottom Line: We are so disappointed with this van, we have sworn off FORD and maybe even every other US manufactured vehicle.

We purchased the Freestar in May of 2004 brand new- our first brand new vehicle! We were so excited about the DVD player and sliding doors, rear AC controls and the like! Within a year, our excitement diminished greatly with numerous issues, such as ...

Don't buy if you plan on keeping for a long time

Pros: Like the room inside and the power sliding doors.
Cons: Just don't last.
I bought my 2004 Ford Freestar used with 14,000 miles. I've had it now for 5 years and just went over 100,000 miles. In the past year I've had to put in over 5000 dollars into it to keep it running. I've had problems with the steering, fuel, wheel hubs, and numerous sensors. I like the vehicle but it reliability deteriates fast over time. Now I have transmission issues. This is my third Ford and every time I get above 80,000 miles on one they fall apart. No matter how well I try to take care of them. I will never buy another Ford again. I finally learned my lesson. I'm trading it in for a Toyota this weekend. American cars are just not made to last. But I guess thats how they make thier money. Force you to keep repairing it or buy a new one.

Pros: DVD player
Cons: type "2004 Ford Freestar transmission problem" in your internet search engine. I rest my case!
When I bought my 2004 Ford Freestar, I loved it! The DVD player sold it to the kids! But it has proved to be a lemon! There has been a continuing transmission problem that has been undiagnosed to this date. It is frustrating to pay a payment something that is sitting in my driveway.
