Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, space and convenience.
Cons: The phone charger plugs are located too low.
The Bottom Line: I would buy this car again if I had the choice!

The 2004 Honda Odyssey is a great minivan.  It has a long list of wonderful attributes.  First on the list is the roomy seats.  They are comfy enough to accomodate anyone, from carseats with infants to the overweight adult.  With ... read more

No Frills, Basic Van

Jun 29, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Reliability, Resale value, Honda reputation
Cons: low MPG, no excitement factor, too firm a ride
The Bottom Line: High reliability/resale value are offset by basic features and poor MPG. If you must have a van, consider an Odyssey

Bought a Honda Certified 2004 Odyssey EX with 59K miles. Ride is rougher than other vans (Sienna and Caravan) and driver sits closer to road. Reviews claim the Odyssey rides more like a car - I agree, it rides like a firm suspension car. Exterior ... read more

Great Van!

Jun 3, 2008 - Updated Apr 2, 2013 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Price - best value today, convenience, reliability
Cons: Fuel capacity, junk speakers, no trip computer
The Bottom Line: As of 2014, an '04 is still a great buy, but finding one with low mileage will be difficult. My new choice for a pre-owned model would be an '10.

4/2/13 Update Passed 80,000 miles recently. Did the Timing Belt, Water Pump, Tensioner, and all other Belts job. Was actually a year late. ;) Mileage has not changed since we bought the vehicle - still 15/24. Rear pop-out windows have given us some ... read more

Now I know why this van is so popular

Jun 11, 2005 - Updated Jun 29, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: very roomy middle and front seats, powerful V6, abundant in cupholders, comfortable, good handling
Cons: cramped rear seat, a newer model is available, expensive, not fuel-efficient
The Bottom Line: A perfect minivan for road trips.

Introduction Just to clear things off, if you want to be snazzy and unique while driving a minivan, then I suggest the Chevy Uplander. The Honda Odyssey was created for only one purpose. To be a great luggage and family hauler. It fulfills that ... read more

My Honda Odyssey

Apr 25, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Drives like a car, roomy, SAFE, second row seats slide to the middle, great acceleration.
Cons: Pricey.
The Bottom Line: I love my Odyssey! It is a safe and comfortable vehicle which can transport many people and has plenty of storage capacity as well.

I have owned my 2004 Honda Odyssey for 16 months now and I am still very pleased with it. The storage space in the truck is unsurpassed. I have never seen so much storage capacity available in a minivan trunk. The Odyssey seats seven comfortably. The ... read more

2004 Honda Odyssey EX: Comfort Without the Cool

Feb 3, 2005 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: nice ride, excellent handling
Cons: ultra-basic interior for the price
The Bottom Line: The Bottom Line thinks we will probably be getting another Odyssey when this lease is up.

When we had our third child, we suffered for over a year with three carseats in the back of our Saturn wagon. But as the baby got older, we realized three things: my back was killing me from lifting the baby into the center seat; we weren't going ... read more

Pros: Looks, Great Drive, Abundant storage spaces, Comfortable driver/passenger seats, Easy access to kids
Cons: DVD player costs additional $2500.00 installed

About two weeks ago I went shopping for an SUV. The Toyota 4Runner to be precise. Since I have two kids and have friends and family visiting us from time to time we went looking for 7 passenger version. However found the SUV cramped for space. Upon the ... read more

What a great van

Nov 11, 2004 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth driving - drives like a car.
Cons: If you are looking for the latest model, this is not it.
The Bottom Line: This van was the top of our list after looking at other comparable vans.

With our second child on the way, it was time to buy a bigger car. We decided to drive a few vans - the Honda Odyssey, Nissan Quest, Toyota Sienna and Mazda MPV. Since my husband is 6'5", the MPV was not a good option - it is much smaller than the ... read more

Super Van

Dec 2, 2003 - Updated Dec 5, 2003 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfortable interior, powerful V6, lots of room, Well built vehicle, fun to drive.
Cons: The stick shift is right behind the windshield wiper control, which is awkward.
The Bottom Line: I strongly recommend test driving the Odyssey when you are looking for a SUV or minivan. I completely understand now why they are so popular! Its a great van.

I never considered myself a minivan person. I like to drive fast, like sporty type cars. I began researching, test driving many cars about 2 months ago. Originally I wanted an SUV, drove them all. Wasn't super impressed with any of them, but liked the ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Reliable, dual power side doors, folder front console table, automatic climate controls
Cons: cigarette lighter adapter, inside cabin light switch drains the battery
We bought this 2004 Odyssey in May 2007 with high miles (70,000+) at about $15k.  Since that time we have had no mechanical issues.  It rides well, though it is a little louder than the Sienna on the highways.  Would recommend the Odyssey ... read more

Noise is "characteristic of the vehicle"
Oct 30, 2006 (Show)
Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No
Pros: The DVD is great for travelling - when you can hear it over the rumble.
Cons: See the "review body" section - we are not happy with this purchase.
On a road that is anything BUT smooth as glass, there is a horrible LOUD noise from the front end - sounds like it is in the struts. When you hit any sort of inconsistency in the road (even on the highway) it sounds like your are driving over rumble ... read more

Cried when I traded in SUV for this, but after 1st week of driving Odyssey, I don't give a second thought to that old bulky gas guzzler. Odyssey is a very stylish, functional vehicle. Very family friendly. Easy to clean upholstery. I honestly did not ... read more

Honda Reliability

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Reliability
Cons: Rides a little hard and tinny.
I recently purchased a new Odyssey. My 1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager was getting too old for long trips. I've owned several Hondas and feel they are top quality, mechanically. The Honda rides a little harder than the Voyager. The racks come standard on ... read more
