Pros: Top Performance, very powerful and fast Cons: Useless bike - can't ride it for more then 20min. Painful
I don't know how to start a new review for a 2006 model, so I am going to post here instead. Intro: Thinking of buying a new Suzuki SV650S, here is the untold story. The SV650S offers all the pain and inconvenience of a sport bike at a very ...

Pros: affordable, reliable, forgiving, fun, good fuel economy, fast Cons: front suspension not the best
After taking the Motorcycle Safety Foundation training course at my local community college, I bought a blue 2004 SV650S. Now that I've been riding it for a bit over a year with absolutely no problems, I think that the SV650S is a great motorcycle. It ...

Pros: Great motor, affordable, handles with the best, cheap insurance, great for beginners or experts Cons: Front suspension a little harsh, seat uncomfortable after a couple hours, exhaust is too quiet
Having ridden dirtbikes for about 4 years I finally decided to move to the street. I wanted a bike that would be fast but not going to pop a wheelie if I wasn't trying to, economical, cheap insurance, sporty looks, and affordable. After months of ...

Pros: Engine Price Cons: Suspension
The SV is a terrific value. Having ridden streetbikes for 25 years , owning brit bikes and harleys and ducati and bmw, I can say the little sv is the perfect little backroad burner.Always ready with enough power to pull you thru a turn and keep you out of trouble by not punishing you for using too much throttle. The fuel injection is flawless. Of course the suspension could be upgraded, but in my opinion riding on a bike that moves around a bit is the fun part, the back will slide in a way that won't scare the crap out of you. The front end is harsh but stable except on bumpy pavement which is when the suspensions shortcomings come through,it is not confidence inspiring on bumpy turns. If you know the roads you are riding on this is a great bike,if not you must beware. The brakes are pretty good, not great. If you are on a budget or want a fun reliable little burner this is the one.

New purchase
by pathfinder101 ,Apr 28 '07
Pros: Handling, power, price and fuel mileage. Cons: None found so far, apparently gel seat is a must have.
This is for an 03 SV 650S, previously owned and with 3100 miles on it. Minor scratches etc. but mechanically sound. Copper color, all stock but will change a few things later. Runs very smooth, first V twin I have owned. Previous street bike was an 83 VFR 750, first year. This bike is very nice riding, great acceleration and handling. Did a lot of research before purchasing and am very happy with the bike. For modifications I want to purchase mirror/turn signal combo, lower nose/cowl fairing, carbon fiber levers, taller windscreen, gel seat, K&N filter and possibly a slip on muffler. Overall very pleased with the bike so far.

Excellent bike!!!
by marijap ,May 08 '07
Pros: Excellent performance, great looks, comfortable (maybe not for people below 5'9'') Cons: Can't think of any! Perfect bike!
I have had my Suzuki SV650s in two months now and I'm sooo glad I picked this bike as my first one that I decided to share it with you! As a beginner, I can't compare with other bikes but, I'm getting more and more convinced that this is one of the best bikes and not only for beginners! As for me (6'1'') the bike is simply perfect! And I find it very comfortable. I had doubts about it (considered SV 650 to have higher handlebars) but am very glad to choose 650S! Handling and performance is amaizing, easy to control as for a beginner and enough of power when it's needed! Front suspension is soft, I agree but I haven't had any problems with it. Highly recommended bike!!!
