Pros: Powerful, smooth, classic looks & high tech features. Cons: Speed-o is located in a poor place for the rider. Low ground clearance.
Summary: Why choose a cruiser motorcycle? I don't like the riding position of a bullet or sport bike, nor do I desire to travel at 180+ mph. A touring bike is to large/heavy for in town use; so a cruiser type motorcycle seemed to be a logical choice for ... read more

Pros: Good low end torgue and power to feel as much larger bike. Cons: no radio
Summary: Best bang for the money. I have a 2002 Volusia and the only thing I had to replace was both tires and a battery. I do change the oil & filter. It looks, rides and accelerates like a much larger bike. It does not have the power robbing counter ... read more

Pros: Great looks and nice power. The bike rides like a much larger cruiser. Cons: A little slow to warm up in cold weather, but fine after that.
Summary: I purchased my bike in July 2008, it had 726 miles on it and I now have over 9000 miles. I was a little hesitant to buy a 800 after I had owned an vf1100 for about 10 years. The truth is I really don't miss a thing. This bike is very strong, it ... read more

Pros: Good power, great ride comfortable position of riding Cons: handle bars, replace foot pegs with boards
Summary: I have to say before buying this bike, I really looked around and had not made a choice since I had not ridden a motorcycle in many years since I was a kid. My wife bought this bike for me as a present for passing the motorcycle riders safety ... read more

Pros: There is very little you will want or need to add to this bike. Cons: Carbureted, not fuel injected. A little light at highway speeds.
Summary: I bought the 2003 model of this bike from a police officer in a nearby town. The bike was 4 years old with 2800 miles on it. I had planned on buying a 2006 suzuki c50, however the local dealership in my area wasn't really interested in customer ... read more

Pros: Looks good, sounds good, rides well. Cons: Poor seat, I think it needs a 6th gear.
Summary: I bought this bike in April 2004 after not riding for about 15 yrs. Sold the bike one year later for more highway speed. BUT, this is a great bike, I actually liked this bike more than the 1800cc that I bought to replace it at twice the price. This is ... read more

Pros: Price, looks, seat height, availability of aftermarket parts, power, comfort, and easy access instrument panel Cons: My only negative is, the slow cooler weather warm-up time.
Summary: Without a doubt, the best bang for your motorcycle buck! I mean, think about it, it has the looks of a 1950's style Harley Davidson and with the large number of aftermarket exhaust pipes available from companies like Vance and Hines, Hard Chrome and ... read more

Pros: Looks, style, unmatched chrome. Cons: Sluggish, constantly requires cooling fan to cut on, uncomfortable seat, no git up and go.
Summary: I traded by FJ1200 for an 04, with 6,000 miles. The most chromed out and beautiful bike I have owned. But having had 100+ horses under me found the Volusia extremely sluggish, uncomfortable seat, and with a cooling fan that comes on seemingly

Pros: Wonderful center of gravity, plenty of aftermarket accessories, great gas mileage, and affordable! Cons: I wish it had a sixth gear.
Summary: I originally purchased my '04 Voluisa with the intent that it would be a good "starter bike", yet 24,000 mile later, I can't imagine getting rid of it. A few of my friends that ride Harley's chastised me at first for riding a "foreign" motorcycle,

Pros: Comfortable. Good looking, well balanced. Cons: Poor fuel mileage for an 800cc. Revs rather high at highway speeds, 6th gear needed?
Summary: I have 10K miles on my Volusia now. This bike is easily one of the most comfortable rides available. It is balanced well, handles well, and has a firm feel to it. It is easy to add mods to it as

Pros: Fantastic Buy used, comfortable, stable, low to the ground, beautiful lines, easily available parts, Cons: Only basic electronic controls, needs choke and time to warm up, some plastic external parts.
Summary: I purchased a slightly used earlier year version 2001 of the Suzuki Volusia 800 as my first "real" motorcycle after learning to ride in traffic on a Maxi scooter. The bike is an 800cc engine with aftermarket cobra pipes on it.

Pros: Fast, Nimble, Affordable, Fun To ride Cons: Accessories are pricey, Needs a sixth gear
Summary: I got my Volusia Blue/Silver in December 2004. I hadn't ridden in twenty years and was scared of this bikes size. That fear was unfounded. After a quick spin around my yard I was off for a hour and a half ride in 27 degree weather. It handles so well

Pros: price, power, comfort, aftermarket parts, reliable Cons: very slow to warm, gas mileage isn't that great (but better than most V-2s)
Summary: Don't pass on a chance to ride a Volusia. I ride mine about 300 days a year in the Mid-South. I ride it work, to the grocery store, and I travel on it on occasion. I am not the nicest guy to a bike: I wash it at the carwash, I leave it parked outside of

Pros: Ride, Looks, Performance, Handling and price. Cons: I have nothing negative to say about this wonderful motorcycle/
Summary: The 2004 Volusia is a plush ride with the looks of a movie star. Very powerful since I installed Vance&Hines straight shots and a Thunder supercharger. I also put on a mustang single seat with a tank bib and a rear fender bib. This bike looks and

Pros: Price, style, ride. Cons: Uncomfortable stock seat, takes FOREVER to warm up.
Summary: I bought this last year, and I have to say it's the best bike I have ever owned. You will be surprised at the power this engine has, for being only 805 cc, it's got plenty of get up and go. Cruising on the highway at 80 mph is no problem, and I can keep

Summary: I've owned a few bikes over the past few (33) years. I had a '69 Triumph Bonneville, a '73 Kawasaki 350 and a '91 Honda Nighthawk 750 among others. The Volusia is by far the best bike I've ever owned. The shaft drive makes the ride smoother than anything

Pros: Great price, smooth ride, lots of available accessories, great retro 1950's look Cons: Stock driver and passenger seat can get uncomfortable after a couple hundred miles.
Summary: This bike is hands down the best all around mid sized bike out there. At 805cc and around 550 pounds, it's quick enough to get around town in and has enough power for a nice highway cruising. The best part is that there are a lot of aftermarket products

Pros: Huge bang for the buck. Nice styling. Powerful motor. Handles easily. Cons: Takes a LONG time to warm up. Rear fender bolt holes misalign when adding accessories.
Summary: Bear in mind that my comments are from a beginning rider.....I moved up from a V Star 650. The Volusia, while only 150cc more, has a lot more get up and go and can maintain cruising speed on the highway without winding up as much as the V Star did. It's
