Pros: Fuel economy 39 mpg mixed and 50 hwy, practical, 52 cu ft cargo space, luxurious Cons: Expensive dealer service, VW dealer network reputation is negative, VW Roadside Assistance useless, Bad commercials The Bottom Line: The fourth generation Jetta wagon is now extinct and soon also the Pumpe Duse technology used in their diesels. Great car but VW reputation can be intimidating.
I purchased my 2004 Jetta Wagon TDI - diesel - the first week of January 2004 so now it is two years old. I originally bought the 2003 Jetta Wagon during November 2002 and loved it though I had my share of issues with VW service and the inability to ...

Pros: engine performance, interior styling(I got the leather) Cons: service department,Clutch vibration, moisture problem. The Bottom Line: I would recommend the vehicle to people in general because I do like it, but I am hesitant because others may receive the same crummy service I have.
This car is a curse and a blessing. The bad first..I have had a moisture problem with the car fogging up constantly, spring, summer, winter and fall, since I bought it. The "mechanics" (and I use the term loosely)keep telling me to drive with the air ...

Pros: The car has nice mileage, great engine. Cons: Bad buy. In the 1.8T 2004 Jettas, VW has istalled defficient parts. The Bottom Line: final recommendation: don't by a VW, under any circumstances. They install crap OEM parts, knowing you will be back much earlier than needed for repairs.
I have a 2004 Jetta 1.8T. Overall, the car has performed nicely; lots of fun to drive, great mileage, great engine, and super handling. However, at 50k miles I experienced clutch issues, whereby I could not shift into R or 1st, unless the engine was off. ...

Pros: Very peppy, good gas mileage, pleasant on the eyes, good trunk space Cons: Minimal back seat room The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to anyone with a family as there is just not enough room for a family.
I really enjoy this car. It has an extremely peppy 1.8 litre turbo engine. The "get up and go" is really nice whether you are driving in city traffic or just having some fun. I haven't had a single problem with it since the day it was bought new. I ...

Pros: good gas mileage, safety minded, ample room, large trunk Cons: small for tall drivers and/or passengers (over 6ft) The Bottom Line: The Jetta is an safe, comfortable and easy car to own. Add in the excellent gas mileage and you've got a winning combination!
Lots of cars taut safety features galore and brag over their side impact, blunt force, etc, etc, however, I can tell you from first person authority that the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta is an honest to goodness lifesaver. Impact shatter windows, outstanding ...

Pros: Quick, great uphill, compact, sporty, great handling Cons: Too small for a standard-size carseat The Bottom Line: Get this car if you're looking for something quick and compact. Good for city driving and quick stops.
The Jetta was the first car I ever owned and I think it is great for beginning drivers and first time car owners. It is a zippy compact car with great handling. I can do turns limited to 30 MPH at 50 MPH with ease. The full package comes with optional ...

Pros: has good pickup on the freeway. Cons: its a piece of junk.
ok, long story short i bought this car from a widow who her husband bought it, then passed away a few months later. thought i was getting a good deal
till i had to bring it in to the shop every few months for repairs (under warranty of course but its just the idea).
Finally the last straw that made me get rid of this car was it started to shift hard on me. i brought it in to the dealership and they said they thought it was either a transmission problem (on a FOUR YEAR OLD CAR) or a vaulve. well, they take it in, put it on a machine, and call me back and say "oh well we replace the least expensive parts first and then we go for the big stuff" (translation- it IS in fact the transmission but they dont want to take the time or THEIR money to replace it). awful!
buyer beware! do NOT buy this year and make of car (while i was at the dealership, ALMOST EVERY CAR ON THIER LOT TO SELL WAS A 04 JETTA!).
