Germans revive the traditional American sedan to compete with the Japanese (3.5 and 5.7 reviewed)

Apr 03 '04 - Updated Nov 18 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Distinctive look and feel, HEMI engine, balanced handling, good quiet ride, roomy, price
Cons: Styling not for everyone, plain interior (except 300C), V6 lacks grunt, not nimble, feature packaging
The Bottom Line: A solid return for the traditional American sedan. The V6 is a thoroughly competent car. Enthusiasts need the V8.

Chrysler hasn’t had an easy time selling cars (as opposed to trucks and minivans) for the past decade or two. As sales of the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry have risen, its sedans have been pushed to the sidelines. Few people shopping for a sedan even ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Innovating and daring style. Fully equipped and priced to beat the competitors. Lots of power.
Cons: Sluggish transmission and concerns about the braking system. Not economical to run.
The Bottom Line: Aside for the lazy transmission and my worries for the braking system, I believe that once accepted by consumers Chrysler has a winner with the 300C.

CHRYSLER 300C 2005 He Who Dares Win! Firstly, I have to say that I was very impressed by the daring style and the performance of this car and this first impression was sufficient to realize that Chrysler had once again done something different ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Visual appeal, price, space, gas mileage
Cons: Some interior parts aren't the highest quality.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this vehicle. It looks great, rides great, and have plenty of space.

We recently purchased a 2005 Chrysler 300 Touring for my wife. She had been driving a 1995 Nissan Altima for the past 8 years or so and was ready for an upgrade. So, against my better judgment, we bought a Chrysler. My parents had owned a couple of ...

Pros: Its all about design with this car.
Cons: fuel economy
The Bottom Line: If the design of this car appeals to you, my review should assure you that the more practical aspects of this car are up to the mark. Solid purchase!

My review of this automobile is based on over a month of driving this car all over Germany. Let's get started shall we? I rented this car at Frankfurt Airport. Just so you know, the C badge is not reserved for the Hemi version here in Germany. Because ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fast, beautiful styling, very good drivetrain, reliable
Cons: Transmission is disappointing, large blindspots, certain interior panels could be higher quality
The Bottom Line: Class far beyond what the price tag would have you believe. Muscle car feel in a luxury car body.

I drive this car regularly as a pool vehicle through work. In the last 9 months I have put approximately 5000 miles on. The first thing you notice when you get in is the small sight picture through the windshield. The low roofline really ...

Pros: Look of brawn, quiet ride, roomy,
Cons: option packages, a few design flaws
The Bottom Line: Despite a few flaws I would still recommend the car for the price.

Let me start by saying I'm no auto journalist or mechanic, and I've never owned a japanese made vehicle. That said, I have owned my '05 Chrysler 300 for exactly 6 months and have just rolled over to 6,000 miles. I was driving a dodge durango ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 2.0 Recommended: No

Pros: There are better cars to own!
Cons: Lack of appealing substance
The Bottom Line: I can't recommend this car to own, even if it were upgraded to the much celebrated Hemi with alloy wheels and leather.

NOTICE: The vehicle I'm reviewing was a rental that was equipped with basic standard bottom-line features. In other words, a V6 with hubcaps. I am reviewing it accordingly. So there I was on the island of Maui. The rental agency ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Most ominous car ever! 68,000 miles and still a "looker"; still performs like new.
Cons: Switchgear failures, gas mileage a few less mpg from stated averages.
The Bottom Line: Someone else took the depreciation hit, so live your wildest dream and buy one of these things - CHEAP!

After falling out of love with a 1985 Jaguar XJ6, it was time to go on the hunt for a new set of wheels. Wandering by one of my local dealerships, I noticed an '05 300C. Grabbing the keys, testing and poking and prodding around eventually led to the ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sleek, mean, too cool, handles great and it's fast
Cons: Maybe the visibility, but not really a problem
The Bottom Line: Go test drive one. They speak for themselves.

I've had my 300 Touring (black pearl, the only color I even considered, it's gorgeous) about 2 weeks. Chrysler really hit the mark with this car. It gets away from the aerodynamic "egg" look that most cars seem to have these days, and dares to be ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Ample interior space, power, the look on people's faces when I drive by in it.
Cons: Occasional mistakes with navigation system, massage seats and cooled seats are not available!
The Bottom Line: A wonderful car, truly a car to impress your friends and everybody else on the road!

I bought my Chrysler 300C about a month ago. I had been in the market for an extra car to have for about 2 months when this caught my attention. I had looked at a Cadillac Deville and the new Buick Park Avenue, but both had the old grandfather boring ...

Pros: Turning the sedan segment of the automotive market on its collective ear.
Cons: Having to wait 10-15 weeks for your car to be ordered.
The Bottom Line: Call it value, or just bling-bling - this car does it all. A true wonder - SHAZAM!

THE 300 "C". Like most Lucas productions, this one was much anticipated and action-packed. From its early inception to final implementation, Chrysler's new 300C marked a triumphant return to everything that makes American sedans great cars: ...

A Boss's Ride

Dec 23 '05

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: The 340 HP 5.6L hemi and the smooth ride make the 300C a best pick.
Cons: The interior is especially disappointing on the 300 and 300 Limited models.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend the 300C model which has the hemi engine and the most options. The other models lack the power and interior that you'd expect from an executive vehicle.

The body design of this vehicle is a real head turner. Its design resembles that of a far more expensive vehicle and has thus been described by many as the "baby-Bentley". Although the appearance of this automobile is remarkable, many people have ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, style, power, gas mileage.
Cons: None! Wish I would have bought one earlier!
The Bottom Line: Best car I've ever owned and worth every penny because it comes through on every level as a luxury ride.

I've owned my 300 Touring for about four months- it's a 2005 and I got it with only 15,000 miles on it. I now have 24,000 on it and each of those miles was experienced in incredible comfort and style. This car gets fantastic mileage too- 22 to 23 in ...

Chrysler: Z4 to 300m with no regrets!

by osp1235
Jan 18 '05

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, great handling, visibility, looks and perfect size for any six foot frame.
Cons: Transmission has too great of range between high and low, needs a second gear.
The Bottom Line: If your looking for comfort, a quiet ride, great looks and the feeling of protection all around, look no further the 300 has it all.

Having recently traded my BMW Z4 for the new Chrysler 300m I'm having no regrets. The new comfort I enjoy by far surpasses the differences of the top speed I enjoyed in my Z. Then again the top speed I'm driving now equals the speed I drove the Z for ...

2005 Chrysler 300 limited
by gbsid
May 09 '04
Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Ride, quietness, quality materials, roomy interior, finish
Cons: limited rear view
I have had my Chrysler 300 for about a month now and I am very pleased with every aspect of the vehicle.
Most peoples reaction when they see my car for the first time is WOW.
The interior is first rate both in finish and comfort. This is one of the quietest cars that I have owned and even at 120 km/hr on the highway there is no wind noise at all.
My vehicle has the upgraded leather interior and with all the wood trim this gives the vehicle a look of luxury.
The gauges and steering wheel controls are very good and clear.
This model has the 3.5 v6 engine and gas mileage for a new tight engine is very good.
On mixed driving with more local than distance it is averaging out at 10.2 lts/100k
