Pros: Stylish, content for the dollar, relatively roomy rear seat, good shifter Cons: Driving position, not very thrilling, uncomfortable rear seat The Bottom Line: A lot of style, content, and quality for the price. Just don't expect it to be thrilling to drive.
The 2005 model year will be the last for the Toyota Celica. At first I thought I knew why. Not only have sales been weak, but Scion, Toyota's youth brand, recently introduced a coupe that, at $16,600, costs over $5,000 less than the Celica despite having ...

Pros: Awesome feature content, bargain price, high-quality interior, excellent clutch and shifter. Cons: Mild-mannered demeanor, unexceptional engine and handling, limited driver involvement, some ergonomic missteps. The Bottom Line: The tC takes Scion's successful formula--uniqueness, feature content, and friendly pricing--and adds a heavy dose of style. It's still not quite a driver's car, though.
My Experience I test-drove a Scion tC at a local dealership. My test drive lasted about forty-five minutes, and covered city streets, the freeway, and winding secondary roads. Performance The tC uses the same 2.4-liter ...

Pros: Very inexpensive, Lexus like build quality, plenty of power, unbeatable standard features, clean european design Cons: A bit heavy, Electronic throttle body, Want one? Get in line The Bottom Line: This is an excellent car. Awesome standard features, awesome price, very classy look, tons of factory aftermarket with warranty... what else could you possibly ask for?
After selling my 95 Acura Integra with the intent of buying a brand new car, I first looked at a 2004 Scion XB. Yes, the "toaster" or the "XBOX" as some of you call it. :) The XBs are very strange cars and you either totally love them, or totally hate ...

Pros: Small, good handling, reasonably quick, lots of options to add later. Cons: Gas mileage, radio cover, tires, trunk? What trunk? The Bottom Line: Nice car. I think I should have waited for one with side airbags. Get the OEM XM radio, not a dealer installed one
Traded in my 2004 V6 Solara and bought this car. I like the vehicle very much, although it can be a strange combination of sporty and staid and luxurious and cheap. A Lexus it is not. The car is reasonably roomy for driver and passenger. Legroom is ...

Pros: Its price, its design, its power, its features...did I mention the price? Cons: The flimsy stereo cover. That's about it. The Bottom Line: The bottom line is that those of you who are looking for that sporty car, yet are on a budget, this is the car for you
The new 2005 Scion tC, starting at about $16,500, is made for those of you who are looking for a "fun" car, yet have a budget to consider. The tC is in competition with a Honda Civic as far as price range, yet it somehow out-classes it by far. Although ...

Pros: great design, fun to drive, awesome factory sound system Cons: short warranty, small issues (maybe 1st model year related?), dealer seemingly not knowledgeable The Bottom Line: I love the car, but I'm a bit wary of the quality (I suspect it's maybe first-year problems, but not sure). Worth a try!
We've had our 2005 Scion tC since July 2005. We bought it from our bank, so it was "used" with about 12k miles when it was new to us. Since then we've put about 24k miles on. It's fun to drive, the gas mileage is respectable (we avg 29mpg - good ...

Pros: Automatic transmission, price, 6 Speaker Sound system, Roominess, Handling, no-haggle price! Cons: trying to find some The Bottom Line: The Best car for the money with no Flaws! Great motor!
I bought my new Scion tC back on April 30, 2005 and have loved it ever since... I was not necessarily in the market, but I have studied cars since I was 8 years old, and fell in love with the tC when I first laid eyes on it, and knew the price... I am ...

Pros: Good looking, safe feeling, great interior! Cons: Gas mileage? Customer service (online chat) not helpful. The Bottom Line: A good car at the right price!
I decided that I wanted to get the Scion tC before I had even driven it, to be honest. I had already sold my Honda Civic DX and was driving a rental Mustang... I had a broker working with me to find a tC...no luck. I had one dealer tell me that he had ...

Pros: Smooth looks, Panoramic moon roof, plenty of HP and Torque. Cons: GAS mileage, stereo speakers and A\C is a little weak. The Bottom Line: You have it all in one package, looks power and reliability, not to mention excellent resale.
I bought the Tc after I traded in my XB for the simple fact that the BOX was turtle slow. The Tc offers a great deal of power in a coupe but don't get mistaken by Scions objective here. They are going for style and customizing results not race cars. I ...

Pros: dual sunroofs, alloy wheels, power everything, under $18k! Cons: heavy, which affects cornering ability, but not that bad The Bottom Line: If you are in the market for a coupe, add the tC to your list of cars to test drive.
At first, I was a little hesitant to think seriously about the tC. Scion was a relatively new brand and the tC was an even newer car. Track record was non-existent and no one I knew had driven one, as the car hit the market just a few months ago. I went ...

Pros: Cost, Styling, Torque, Drivetrain Reliability, Panoramic Sunroof, Side Mirrors, Wheels Cons: Rattles, Horsepower, Paint, Sway Bars, Brakes, Trunk Release, Amber Dashlights, Vanity Mirror Lights The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a sports car you can soon find yourself wanting to spend all the thousands you just saved to add more power and performance.
The Scion tC has the looks of a BMW, Lexus, Volvo that turns heads. The reliability of Toyota drive train add to its owners confidence. I love the brushed aluminum interior styling with its decent CD player that can play a days worth of music on one mp3 ...

Pros: Affordable price. A lot of standard equipment. Crazy fun to drive. Cons: Availability. Some places have 6-8 week waiting lists. CD player cover gets a little annoying. The Bottom Line: This car rocks! The tC has only minor cons and is an absolute pleasure to drive.
I've been driving SUVs for years. As I grow older, I've realized that they aren't as practical as I thought they were. Ever climbing gas prices and the fact I live in a flat urban area drove me to look for an alternate vehicle. I first looked at the ...

Pros: Smooth ride, nice features, good bang for the buck Cons: No pause, or headlight beam ring The Bottom Line: The car is a very good bang for the buck. I would reccomend anyone shopping in the 15k price range to check it out.
First, this is a 2005, which isn't an option on epinions yet. Ill start off with the interior, which is very roomy, and very very comfy. The seats are nicely bolstered and everything is easy to reach. The guage cluster is a cool brushed aluminum look ...

Pros: Great value for price. Smooth, reliable engine.European styling with japanese reliability. Fantastic! Cons: Easy to modify means also easy to take apart by accident. Hate radio cover. The Bottom Line: If you want a cheap, reliable and stylish car, this is it.
Until recently I have driven my motorcycle the 4 miles to work every day without any problems. But a recent job change required me to get a car for the first time since my 1991 VW Jetta. I reviewed a lot of cars online, visited a lot of dealers and went ...

While I cannot give you all the technical terms of the other car buffs; all I can give you is an honest opinion from a practical viewpoint. No one buying this car expects a miracle for under $20,000. What one does get is a very reliable, comfortable, ...
