2006 Yamaha Majesty 400 - A refined machine

by gregbartos , Sep 08 '05
Pros: Very high quality, great value, excellent performance.
Cons: Shhhhh.... these things are under-advertised.
I bought my new 2006 Yamaha Majesty 400 a couple weeks ago. This is my 1st "scooter" class vehicle. I have owned three 1100 Class Suzuki motorcycles, so I'm not a rookie rider and had high expectations for this machine, based on my research and ...

It's still a Majestic ride

by didiki , Aug 13 '05
Pros: Great ride, great gas mileage, well built.
Cons: None really, except for some minor points noted above.
As promised here is a six month update on my 2005 Yamaha Majesty 400cc. In the past 6 months I have put 2240 kms (1344 miles) on Her Majesty. Not that much, but then again our weather this past winter on Vancouver Island has been rain, rain and more ...

2005, 400cc Yamaha Majesty - "Blue Meanie"

by thebluemeanie , Nov 15 '04
Pros: Solid/smooth ride, economical, powerful, dependable starts, large storage area under seat.
Cons: Slow from zero to 20mph.
Freeway travel is solid. At 80mph no speed wobbles were noticed. Fuel injected, 400cc Engine is fairly quite. Plenty of power, slow out of the hole with centrifugal clutch and one speed. Fuel economy in town is right at 50mpg, approx. 180 mile range on ...

2005 Yamaha Majesty 400 cc Scooter?

by reliablehost , Mar 05 '05
Pros: Comfortable, looks cool. Engine is smooth and strong. Bike is lightweight, but not too light.
Cons: windshield could be bigger stock but there are after markets that's it! go buy one
I just got back from Thailand and had rented numerous Yamaha automatic scooters over there, like the Nouvo and actually purchased a Nouvo MX for around $1000. I came back to the states and had a craving for more. The one thing about shopping for a ...

Majesty YP400 reliable and user friendly

by rideaway , Jan 10 '07
Pros: Reliability, storage, comfort, confidence in the machine and fuel economy.
Cons: It is hard to find anything negative to say. Perhaps checking air pressure is cumbersome.
At 60 years of age I decided I wanted a scooter. I am a resident of NSW, Australia. To obtain a L permit you need to attend a training school and pass an theory exam. After achieving this I purchased a 150cc Taiwanese made scooter, a TGB. It was a nice ...

scooter, motorcycle, or both (cruiser?)

by arcamedies , May 15 '06
Pros: unbelievable fuel economy, runs great for a 400cc, great bang for the buck, FAST
Cons: maybe add side lighting besides turn signal running lights
IT'S A 2006 What an amazing bike, my first Yamaha (except for outboards). I've had 14 bikes over 40 years and my last were several (3) Goldwing and a Harley Ultra Glide that I put 15,000 to 18,000 miles on a year. The Majesty handles superbly, very ...

A GREAT buy!

by joefam , May 26 '07
Pros: Comfort, plenty of pep, excellent gas mileage (60+)
Cons: Tough to clean the lower interior parts of the windshield.
Before the Majesty I had a 102 cubic inch modified Road Star Warrior. Nothing in its class could touch it for 0-60 racing. In fact, even the GXRS could not touch in through 1st gear. I had about $15,000 in the bike. It had no storage and no windshield ...

2005 Yamaha Majesty 400 cc Maxi-Scooter

by hawk0357 , Dec 23 '04
Pros: Solid, stable any speed, comfortable seat
Cons: Floor boards could be a bit wider up front.
Got the Majesty on 11/29/2004. I did alot of research on the Majesty and others and choose the majesty based on the research and then finalized my research decision with a close up of the bike at a dealer. I think the Majesty quality is ...

Good little machine... but starting issues?

by jimjutte , Apr 18 '06
Pros: A miser with gas, with a nice protected ride
Cons: Poor handling related to obstacles like potholes, starting problems and locks freeze in cooler weather.
I purchased my Yamaha Majesty in October 2005 when most people were putting their's away. I installed several accessories right away and will be adding the rear carrier in spite of initial reservations. I initially looked at the Majesty because my ...

Not for the freeway

by estatomas , Oct 30 '05
Pros: Comfortable ride around the neighborhood; great engine.
Cons: Unstable in traffic at freeway speeds and unsuitable for such use.
I loved this scooter when I first got it. I purchased it new from the dealer and promptly began the break in process, cruising around the neighborhood. The 400 cc engine runs beautifully. The first problem I noticed was that the short windshield ...

St Louis commuting (7100 mile update)

by stlmajesty , Oct 04 '05
Pros: Great mpg, no 2-stroke buzz, looks good, handles great
Cons: Too tall for wife, passenger seating needs backrest for confidence.
I bought the Majesty to save gas since my daily driver is a full sized pickup that gets 15mpg. I had not owned a motorcycle since before getting married (13 years, Virago 920) and didn't even try to convince my wife until gas hit $3.19 I reasoned that ...

2005 Yamaha 400cc Majesty

by wyodog , Oct 17 '05
Pros: fun factor, handling, acceleration, braking, good looks
Cons: none really, other than no sidecar for my Lab
When it began to cost close to $100 to fill my truck and I started noticing scooters around town, I began to think seriously about these things. I needed something that could handle both street and highway travel and wouldn't get blasted off the road. ...

I purchased a new 2005 Yamaha Majesty Jan 29, 2006, mainly to ride to work. My daily commute is just over 20 miles each way. Living in the Phoenix AZ area, I planned to ride year around. Currently (Sep 9, 2006) I have over 5700 miles on the scooter ...

A Fine Ride!

by belbobo2 , Oct 04 '05
Pros: Comfort, convenience, power and appearance.
Cons: Wind turbulence and non-analog gauges.
I just spent my first weekend riding the Yamaha Majesty 400 and am having a blast. My girlfriend and I traded in a pair of 2004 MZ Moskito 125 scooters for our new bikes. We wanted to get out of town a bit further than we could on the smaller rides. ...

Last fall I purchased a used 2003 Honda Rebel 250..just to get my feet wet again in the biking world. About 2 weeks ago I decided that the Honda just wasn't what I was looking for..it was noisy and buzzy above 50 mph plus after 25 miles you wanted to ...
