Pros: Allison Transmission and duramax diesel Cons: slightly rough ride but still the best of the big 3 The Bottom Line: Great truck for a family or somebody that needs to haul frequently.
This truck is awesome. Mine is opted out with the available 6.6L Duramax Diesel which gives it about 360 horsepower and around 660 ft-lb. of torque. The Allison six-speed automatic shifts seamlessly in everyday driving, but switch it into the manual mode ... read more

I was looking for a single axle diesel 1/ton pick up that could pull pretty much anything. The pick up has really been good to me. It pulled a 26' enclosed trailer full of household goods from New York to Texas without a hitch. It ... read more

Pros: Good FE for a fullsize. Roomy cabin. Cheap cost of ownership Cons: Too big for small driveways or garages. bed is too high up for easy loading. The Bottom Line: I would recomend this truck only for people who NEED a fullsize pickup truck. If you don't need a 1/2ton frame get a compact or a large car.
Okay i owned an 06 Silverado 1500 Work Truck package. 4.3L/5spd 2wd. All around I was very happy with this truck. It could tow my boats and cars around with a minimum of effort. For real towing you would need both the steeper gearing and a v8 option. ... read more

Pros: Good mileage, reliability, overall low cost of operation. Cons: Payload rating doesn't match the actual load I've placed on the truck. The Bottom Line: It's definitely a light duty truck that I've pushed to the limit. I'm having to keep a close eye on the rear suspension. Worth the price I paid.

Pros: lots of room, classy looks, agressive handling (for a truck), and responsive stearing. Cons: fuel milage isn't great (14-15 mpg.), rear suspension is bouncy, weak tranny and rear end
in stock form, it's kinda weak. after headers, complete exhaust, cold air intake, upgraded injectors, T.B., and computer mods, she's outruns mustang GT's...... with a 4.8! now, the bad.... the rear end failed, transmission failed, inner tie rods
