Pros: Great comfort; Stow-n-go seating; Nice steering and handling Cons: Weak craftsmanship in some areas; Mediocre sound system The Bottom Line: Grand Caravan is a very good minivan for the money with plenty of storage space, nice handling, great comfort, and a great price.
Minivans are a great vehicle for families and for this reason I never took them seriously in the past. My first preference was always sports coupes, followed by SUVs, and then sports sedans. Minivans didnt even enter my vehicle radar and I ...

Pros: Flexible Stow 'N Go seating, confidant handling, price. Cons: Interior miscues galore, underpowered engine, clumsy audio system. The Bottom Line: The spunky handling and Stow 'N Go seating is enough to earn a recommendation, despite some interior woes and a weak engine.
The Dodge Grand Caravan has taken the minivan market by storm recently, thanks in no small part to two standout attributes: responsive handling and the Stow N Go seating feature. Minivan sales as a whole have sagged lately, with a 10-percent slide ...

Pros: safety ratings, storage space, the way the trunk opens. Cons: 4-speed auto, boring & thirsty engine The Bottom Line: :)
This review is based on my experience with several Dodge Grand Caravans at my workplace. In some aspects, the Caravan is ahead of its competition. But in looking at the whole car, its definitely behind its competition - imports in particular. In ...

Pros: Great ride, plenty of leg room and storage. Cons: Stereo system needs improvement, some cheap plastic parts The Bottom Line: I would recommend the Grand Caravan to anyone. It is great for small families, large families, or anyone looking for a smooth ride at a decent price.
Why And What I Needed In a New Ride I was involved in a very serious automobile accident almost two years ago which left me with a severely broken leg and a pick-up truck that did not survive. With the loss of the truck I needed a replacement ...

Pros: Excellent build quality, ergonomics, harmonious design, and efficiency. Stow-And-Go Rocks! Cons: Brake pads spew dust and have questionable longevity. Front mats need work. Marginal fuel gauge. The Bottom Line: An excellent balance of price/performance. Outstanding utility and build quality. Very good road manners, and an overall design that looks like it was penned by an artist, not a committee.
My wife and I have an interior design business, our accountant said we needed more deductions, and the need to haul bulky furnishings to our client's homes on a moments notice led us to shop for a new minivan. My wife likes her Camry, so she favored the ...

Pros: handling, Stow and Go seating, a workhorse! Cons: Gas mileage The Bottom Line: I would highly recommend to a bigger family on the go.
As we faced numerous repair bills on our old car we decided to trade it in on a 2006 Dodge Caravan. We researched several makes of minivans and SUV's, and even went to look at the Honda Odyssey (too much money) and Chevy Suburbans (bad gas mileage). We ...

Pros: Smooth handling, excellent safety, love the Stow and Go, tons of extras Cons: none The Bottom Line: Excellent purchase for a larger family or family that likes to take their pets on trips.
Although my husband and I have never been fond of Mini-Vans (mostly due to the negative stereo-types), we decided to rent this one to see how we liked it. Although this is obviously a mini-van by looks Doge has put it's classic style into the design ...

Pros: Stylish, Price, Mileage, great ride! Cons: Brakes go out soon, and too many people drive the dark Blue colored van. The Bottom Line: Great all around minivan, that's why a lot of people buy them!

2006 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT

Pros: Ride, space, horsepower(with 3.8L V6 engine.) Also, we do like the styling. Cons: Quality, quality, quality. Chrysler needs to get their act
together on this.
Got ours new in March of 2006. We had previously owned 2 Dodge Vans previous to this one and been very happy. However, this must have been our time to get a lemon. This model had all the bells and whistles, a special edition model with 3.8L V6, leather, DVD, dual sliders, power hatch, moonroof, heated power seats, stow and go, etc. The day after we picked it up, the passenger side slider would not open, back to the dealer for a new motor, 2 days out of service. This past summer, we took it on vacation, a 650 mile trip, on the next to last day (at the beach) the air conditioning went out. A trip home with no air conditioning, and 5 trips to the dealer to get it corrected. The space, ride and extras we got are great, however, we are disappointed with the quality. Having been Dodge owners for nearly 20 years, based on our experience with this van, I can't say that we will purchase one again.

Pros: Had the features you look for in family transportation at a fair price Cons: Mechanically unreliable due to dismal Dodge quality control (see explanation)
We purchased our new Dodge Grand Caravan SXT on a Saturday. The next morning we started her up, heard a loud "pop", power steering went out, and she started overheating. 55 miles on the odometer and she's no more. Didn't even own her for 24 hours. This is why for the past 9 years we have driven Toyotas and Hondas. But I'm a patriot, and I was willing to give American-built another chance. Boy, did I get burned. On a brighter note, nobody was hurt. We were planning on taking our brand new vehicle on a road trip, and that could have ended badly. Also, the dealership is working with us to fix the problems with this lemon. They've been nothing but courteous. My hat's off to them. But to DaimlerChrysler and Dodge, get your act together. It's 2006, is there nothing you've learned about quality control in over a century of automobile manufacturing?

A Great People Mover!

Pros: Stow n Go seating Awesome storage capabilities Four wheel disc brakes Added horsepower Cons: Cupholder light gone, electric wiper defroster gone, fit and finish reduced
I leased the 2006 Grand Caravan model to replace my 2002 Grand Caravan.
Obviously, I must like the vehicle seeing as I renewed into the same model. I did a lot of research of the other 'people-moving' vehicles on the market and there was nothing that compared at this price point.
Pros
Stow n Go seating. I didn't think I'd use it much. Now that it's there, I'm using it all the time.Awesome storage capabilities. Four wheel disc brakes are a must and work great. Added horsepower this year helps get up to highway speed when loaded down.
Cons
Stereo still kinda sucks even with the overhead DVD console added. DVD sound goes through the vehicle speakers unless you get the fully loaded van.
If I had another $100/month, I'd be in Toyota Sienna though!
If I didn't have to use the highway much, I'd be in the Kia van, which has all of the Honda Odyssey's functions and extras at a much lower price than the Honda.
Anyway, you just can't overlook what features you get for the price...it's practical...too practical, dammit...guess I'll have to wait another four years before I get my "cool" car :D

Great Mini-Van at a Good Price

Pros: Stow-N-GO, seat warmers and DVD Entertainment system! Cons: Buttons aren't backlit.
I love this mini-van! The Stow and GO seating is absolutely fantastic, we use this van for everything. When my husband had to buy drywall, he just folded down all the rear seats and was all set! We have the SLX model with all the upgrades except the Sirius Radio and the GPS system. I almost wish that we had added the GPS, though, because we love to travel. The kids can all set their own AC/Heat vents so that everyone stays comfortable and it has a 6 disk DVD changer as well as a seperate CD player and tape player. Some of the programming is hard and becuase there isn't backlighting on the buttons, I can't find somethings in the dark. I also struggle at night with the cruise control because I can't see what the buttons on the steering wheel say.
Overall, though, this is a wonderful mini-van with all the perks and creature comforts! If you can, go for the upgrades as they are worth it!

Pros: very comfortable, stylish, smooth engine Cons: cheap products inside, needs aliitle more power.
i have nothing but good things to say about the dodge caravan 3.3 liter V6 engine, i did not buy the grand caravan because the caravan looks more sleeker plus its less heavy. the room in this vehicle is amazing, very comfy. the only problems i have with ths vehicle is that it looks like it has cheap parts inside. i just hope dodge fixed the notorious transmission problems associated with their vehicles. the 2006 caravan se 3.3 liter v6 is the way to go, dont go for the 2.4 liter 4cyl engine, its like pulling teeth when you go uphill.
i am not sure of the grand caravan, but i didnt want a limosine. lets see if i can go over 150 thousand miles with this vehicle.
