Pros: Handling, room, low price Cons: Awful interior The Bottom Line: The excellent chassis is thoroughly undermined by the cheap interior.
When the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris arrived to great fanfare, I was underwhelmed. The prices just weren't much lower than those of the larger, considerably more powerful, and nearly as efficient Civic and Corolla. Better yet, sacrifice some efficiency ...

Pros: Fun, Performance, Quality, Comfort Cons: Stereo, Warranty The Bottom Line: This car is fun to drive, and has a lot to offer. Consider it when purchasing a midsized vehicle.

Pros: Handling, precise steering, zippy engine, rebates and incentives may save considerable $$$ over competition Cons: Road noise, sometimes abrupt ride, mediocre mileage for a small car The Bottom Line: Definitely a 'driver's car' for short trips, noisy for longer ones
My review refers to the PZEV (partial zero-emissions vehicle) engine, mandatory in states that have adopted California smog laws. The car's color is Sonic Blue. ENGINE It has 130 hp vs. the 136 available elsewhere. When warmed up it can just ...

Pros: Visibility, Peppy Engine, Tight Responsive Driving, Manual Transmission, Comfortable Drive, Driving Position Cons: Tricky Trunk Latch, Noisy & Inefficient Fan The Bottom Line: I would have never thought of owning a Ford, but this Focus is Fun and Practical. There's a model to suit everyone's needs.
First Impressions The first time I drove the Ford Focus Wagon was in 2003 as a rental. I was really amazed how fun it was to drive and so eventually we needed to buy a second car and it had to be capable of long trips that allowed our new dog ...

Pros: Peppy acceleration, handling, comfort, economy, excellent after-market customization. Cons: Split rear seat design, interior design & decor. The Bottom Line: A superior low end economy car that runs with confidence and is comfortable to drive. Handling is excellent, it sips fuel, and lends itself well to customization and dress-up.
My 2006 4 door sedan automatic is now four months old, still within break in mileage, but proving itself tough, fun to drive, and economical at 28 mpg average and 32 mpg highway. The base model Focus (the only option is a power group including windows ...

Pros: Leg room, handsome sedan design, handles responsively, compact parking, zippy pickup, price, domestic service Cons: Air heating/cooling fan is a little loud. The Bottom Line: I recommend this car to singles. It is responsive, has pickup and is fun to drive. Loved my '67 Mustang, tried other makes... Ford has won me back.
I needed a car with automatic transmission after an injury made shifting my manual Acura Legend painful. I looked at cars for some time and was interested in Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. I tried the 2006 Focus Sedan 4-dr and it was compact but roomy ...

Pros: Fuel efficient, reasonably priced, easy to handle Cons: The interior controls are hard to figure out (wipers, radio controls, etc). Small. The Bottom Line: I love this car--it's perfect for a small-ish woman
I was originally attracted to my Ford Focus when I owned another car because I noticed when I walked my dog that my neighbor had a Ford Fiesta that was a zillion years old. Everyday I'd see it go by as regular as clock work. We affectionately started ...

Pros: Fun to drive, lots of zip. Adequate space and size for most people. Good mileage. Cons: Somewhat cheaply made. Don't like radio antenna placement. Road and engine noise. The Bottom Line: Would recommend to anyone looking for a car with better gas mileage and basic reliable transportation. Base model affordable and adequate.
I moved to the city for a new job and my Ford Taurus only got a shocking 15mpg in the city and it was very cumbersome to drive in traffic. I decided to look at the Ford Focus. I always thought the first sedans that came out were ugly, but the new styling ...

Pros: Looks good, decent interior for being an economy car Cons: MPG is horrible!Poor build quality, unreliable. The Bottom Line: A decent looking car that doesn't run very well.
I bought a 2006 Focus brand new back in Novemeber of 2005 from the local ford dealer. The car ran good for the first 1,200 miles then it started to fall apart. The windshield wipers stopped working at first, and that was just the start. The car seems to ...

I have owned my car a year and a half and now i have to replace the battery hopefully that is all - I am beginning to wonder with all my cars options if they put a big enough battery in for the application or maybe the alternator is under amped>>>> we will see

Pros: Power, room, gas mileage, styling, dash and control layout. Cons: Seats are to flat, gas tank is to small, some interior features look to plasticy.
My wife and I bought a 2006 Focus ZXW SE in June. We already have 10,000 km on it, hasn't missed a beat. Took a couple of long trips right away, it was great. Lots of Power, cheap to run, lots of room, styling that doesn't look like Gramas K-car wagon, decent quality of fit and finish. I would definetely buy this car again if I had to decide now. Ours is an automatic, at the time we wanted a standard but the deal we got was just to good to care. Now I don't mind not having the clutch as the transmission handles itself just fine.

Cheap Tires and Misc Issues

Pros: With the appearance packages it looks very sharp Cons: Cheap tires, bad design on shifter
My biggest issue came up the last time I got service from Ford. They told me my tires were needing replaced. They had 35,000 miles (all highway mind you) and needing replacing. It seems that Ford is buying 40K mile Perrelli tires instead of good ones. So if you drive the distance I do it's a rip. If you go to buy this car make sure they swap for decent tires or unless you don't put that kind of mileage on.
A few minors is that the automatic shifter is not ratcheted so that you can accidently bump it into neutral. But also the cruise control doesn't automatically kick out if you do. So if you're using cruise control and hit the shifter you could do some high-reving quick.

Pros: Quick and roomy for a little car. LOVE IT. Cons: standard equipment should always included cruise and tilt steering.
I am Not really impressed with small cars as a whole normaly but, this one is a real surprise. One might think that this car is cramping for tall people. Not at all what I expected, yes it does need one thing that would make it easier to get in and out and that would be tilt steering but the leg room is plentiful. Expecially for the driver and the fact that you can raise and lower the seat with the crank that is under it, for comfort. Head room is a plus also one could probably wear a stove pipe hat and still be comfortable.
Bravo to Ford also for making an economical powerful little four cylinder. This little car with the five speed trans can give you that snap you need to pass on the two lane highways.
For the price this little car is well worth every single penny you will save in the long run.

excellent car for the money, best bang for the buck

Pros: Good acceleration, good handling, stereo (6 disc mp3 changer)room to spare (250 lbs @ 6'1) Cons: wished it had better than 24mpg.
I have owned a 2006 se 2 door model, with side impact air bags, and a 6 disc mp3 changer being the only extras, now for 6 months. I am very impressed with this car so far. It has more than enough pick up, excellent handling, ice cold a/c will cool you down from 95 degrees to COLD in under 8 minutes (I tested it). For 13,700 tax out the door price, you can't go wrong. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody. The only complaint I have, is that I owned a 2000 Daewoo lanos, that was the same body, 4 cyl engine, pretty much identical that got more mpg (27mpg) than mine now which gets about 24mpg. I am disappointed because it was advertised for 26 - 32, and only gets 23mpg. Oh well, I figure, for a good looking car at this price, I can't complain, just wish Ford would advertise correctly.
