2006 Envoy SLT 4.2L 2WD - Sweet Ride

by scotiaguy
Jan 13 '07 - Updated Nov 28 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Comfort, Ride, Build quality, On-Star, self-levelling suspension.
Cons: Power adequate but not inspiring, on-board compressor is noisy. Resale value.
The Bottom Line: An excellent all round compromise of safety, performance, luxury, looks, handling, and hauling. Pity it's so thirsty.

We purchased this vehicle in Apr 2006, and so now feel as though we've lived it with long enough to review. Why did we buy this one? This story begins in mid 2005. Then my wife agreed to let me have a truck, and the search began. While in ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Design, Interior, sound system, space, powerful engine
Cons: Noisy on freeway, CD skips, long warm-up in winter
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent truck. I recommend this truck to anyone who is interested in buying both a beautiful and versatile SUV for any season.

Having driven the 2006 GMC Envoy for a little over a year now, I can appreciate everything it offers. Starting with the exterior, the car is beautiful. My Envoy features the Cranberry Red Metallic paint. In my honest opinion, this is the most beautiful ...

The Bottom Line: Yes this is a great family car for those who have a large family

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smoother. Quieter. Comfortable. Stable. More options standard.Load leveling suspension. Locking Differential. V8.
Cons: Less cargo space compared to the XUV or XL.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the 06 Envoy Denali. Take it for a test drive and see for yourself.

I traded in my 2004 GMC Envoy XUV 4WD for a new 5 passenger 2006 GMC Envoy Denali 2WD. This review will mostly compare the two SUVs. The Denali is a new line for the Envoy in 2006. GMC has really improved the Envoy, especially with the Denali trim. ...

2006 Envoy Denali w/ 5.3 liter Vortec V8 Displacement on Demand

by neila452
Jun 18 '07 - Updated Jun 24 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: A luxury SUV that is a pleasure to drive.
Cons: Transmission problem initially that has been resolved. Otherwise, none.
The Bottom Line: Despite a transmission issue - which, I believe was an isolated incident, and which, in any case has been resolved - I highly recommend the Envoy Denali.

In late December 2006 I traded my 2000 Blazer on a new 2006 Envoy Denali. It is Steel Gray metallic with light gray leather. It is a truly beautiful luxury SUV. The Envoy Denali comes standard with GM's Vortec 5.3 liter Displacement on Demand engine. ...

Excellent 7-pass vehicle (06MY)

by collisog
Apr 21 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 3rd row space, nicely appointed interior. We got a killer $$$ deal
Cons: Handling, MPG's
The Bottom Line: For 2006 this is a recommended 7-pass vehicle. There are likely better vehicles for 2007 . Buying in 2008? Start with the Acadia.

I can't say enough about the 3-row seats: very comfortable for adults, especially for shorter (less than 2 hrs), but even comfortable for some adults on long rides. Case in point, My sister in-law hitched a ride (in the 3rd row) from Moline to west of KS ...

Gorgeous Gas Hog

by mrsbw
Dec 29 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Nice looking, well handling, smooth suv
Cons: GAS HOG
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend the Envoy to a friend. It is a very nice suv, but too pricey, and the fuel economy is poor.

My husband and I bought a new 2006 GMC Envoy XL Denali about a year ago. We went to several dealerships before deciding on the Envoy. We were sold by the ride, features, good looks, and projected fuel economy. Since then we have had several minor ...

Oct 23 '09

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Smooth ride, fully adjustable seats/mirrors/pedals
Cons: Wind noise, mileage is average
The Bottom Line: Been a great purchase and fits our needs.

About a year ago we purchased a used 2006 Envoy SLT. After driving it for this long I am still pleased with the purchase. It is a great mid-sized SUV. The SLT has all the features a Denali does minus the dvd player and navigation. We don't have kids (no ...
