Pros: Honda quality and reliability, 8 person capacity Cons: Mediocre gas mileage The Bottom Line: Excellent vehicle in its class. Great balance of performance, features and quality.
Where do I begin? Is the Pilot a stupendous vehicle, no. Is it a bottom feeder, no. it is exactly where Honda planned for it to be, middle of the road, yet, admittedly, it is high up in the middle! I'm an admitted car nut and we picked up our brand ...

Pros: Voice activated navigation, good gas mileage, smooth ride Cons: weak radio, little loud at high speeds, not the flashiest look The Bottom Line: Definetely a great buy. Same engine and interior room as the Acura MDX which is $10,000 more. Not built to wow but to perform all functions very well. Typical Honda
I just recently traded in my 2000 Ford Expedition for the 2006 Honda Pilot. Going from a full size truck to an SUV I felt was neccessary in regards to gas mileage which so far is much better with the Pilot and I am happy about that. The car rides ...

Pros: Handling, seating comfort, GPS, XM Radio, voice control, space, power outlets, accomodating center console Cons: Wide wing span due to side mirrors; no electric slide for passenger seat The Bottom Line: Got to think hard and search to be critical
Since 1981 I have owned Toyotas (truck and sedan), Nissans (mini vans), and Hondas (sedans). This is my first SUV which I leased on July 1, 2006. So, after 18 months I think that I have enough experience with it to comment, and because I am convinced ...

The 2006 Honda Pilot EX with four wheel drive is the best vehicle that I ever owned. The exterior and interior of the vehicle are of the highest quality and beautiful to look at. We love the exterior blue color and the gray interior. The outside ...

Pros: Great value, fun to drive, very practical. Cons: Looks like a Toyota Highlander, Mileage could be better. The Bottom Line: Great value in a solid vehicle.
The 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L was my first Honda, and I can tell already it will not be the my last. The Pilot is a confident vehicle with excellent handling, a very comfortable interior, plenty of storage, and a profile small enough to move around in the ...

Pros: XM Radio, entertainment system, seating options make it great for family travel. Cons: Gas mileage not what we hoped it would be. The Bottom Line: I would absolutely recommend this SUV to anyone who has an active family and doesn't want a mini-van.
Okay, I'll admit to not being a "car person," I don't know or care about all the technical/mechanical specifications of the car I drive. What matters to me is whether or not the vehicle works for my lifestyle. The Pilot is definitely a lifestyle ...

Pros: Reliability, attractive design, SAFTEY ratings Cons: Low gas mileage (above average for a mid-sized SUV) The Bottom Line: Honda's quaility and saftey is unsurpassed and leaves all other car manufacturers in the dust.
This is the third Honda vehicle our family has owned and our new 2006 Pilot lives up to the reputation that has kept us returning to Honda for our needs. Here's why: Safety: Honda beats most other car brands because side air bags are standard in all ...

Pros: Great ride
Intuitive controls Cons: Worse gas mileage than my minivan but worth it The Bottom Line: I'd buy this vehicle again in a minute and recommend it to everyone I know
We have owned FIVE Chrysler minivans over a 21 yr period - I know, it's hard to believe. But with 3 kids it was a good choice for us. But I was so sick of driving a minivan! Two kids in college, time to get something new and exciting for a change. We ...

Pros: Acceleration, ease of driving, woofer, wheels, center consoles, tilt wheel with radio controls, cargo room. Cons: Column shifter, no cargo cover, crossbars, power passenger seat, moon roof option for EX. The Bottom Line: The Honda research went into this one
I compared the Pathfinder, 4Runner, and Explorer. The Explorer had the most features for 30k. The 2006 Pathfinder and 4runner were nice but look a little odd with all the flares, grilles, and straight wheel wheels. The Honda is conservative, but ...

Pros: safety, value, XM radio, performance, ride, versatility, cargo capacity Cons: Auto day/night mirror, roof rack cross bars, and roadside assistance should be standard. The Bottom Line: The Honda Pilot is an outstanding vehicle for the money.
I recently traded a 2002 Acura MDX for a 2006 Honda Pilot. I purchased my MDX new and drove it over 80,000 miles. It was not as trouble free as it's reputation might indicate. The most serious problem was a tranny replacement which Acura took care of ...

Pros: Spacious, comfortable, 3rd row seat Cons: road noise, boxy style, electronic fuel pedal sensor The Bottom Line: I recommend the Honda Pilot to anyone. Luxury and space with a reasonable price tag. You know it will last because it is a HONDA.
I was test driving used Acura MDX models when I accidentally saw the new 2006 Honda Pilot. I drove the Pilot and was sold practically on sight. The interior is so spacious and comfortable. It is almost identical to the Acura MDX without the huge price ...

Pros: Safety features, great turning radius, amount of space for the money, extras Cons: Gas mileage compared to mid-size cars, weird glare on windshield The Bottom Line: Great car for the money!
I traded in my 2001 Nissan Maxima and got a Pilot about a month ago. We were looking for a mid-sized SUV that was easy to drive and didn’t feel like a truck. We also tested out the Toyota Highlander, BMW X3, and Honda CRV but decided the Pilot was ...

2006 Honda Pilot EX

Pros: Great room, handles pretty well. Cons: Gas mileage is deplorable.
Only had it a few days, but so far, agree with all the comments posted.
Is a nice vehicle for the price, handles very well, but gas mileage is horrible for a V6 of any size! Column shifter is annoying & awkward. Radio system sounds okay with the subwoofer, but disappointing that for the money, comes "XM-ready". Even if you buy the module, you still have an XM antenna to deal with. Why? Honda should have put the money into an XM or Sirius radio that the owner activates if they choose. Little things like that cheapen the vehicle. Lots of room, and while it may be a little bland, sure beats a minivan!

Pros: Space and extras. Cons: Would be nice if the back windows opened somehow.
We have a young growing family and wanted to make sure that we were going to get something that could handle the multiple car seats, strollers, dog etc. After test driving multiple SUV's we settled on the pilot. I have no regret at all after buying the Pilot.
We the EXL with RES(DVD). I could not be happier with ride and feel of the Pilot. Honda has done a magnificent job designing every aspect of the Pilot. It seats 8 easily, comes with more power outlets than you can ever use and for the size is pretty good on gas.
One other very pleasant surprise, insurance. Our insurance only went up $11 for the year and thats from going from an 01 Grand Am to the 4x4 Pilot.
I would, and have already recommend this vehicle to anyone.

Pros: Gas Mileage, Layout, Space (headroom especially), style, PRICE. Cons: No sunroof, radio controls a bit awkward
My wife and I had been searching for a vehicle to replace our dying Jeep Grand Cherokee (Limited). We drove the new Cherokee, Commander, 4 Runner, Explorer and Pilot. Hands down, the Pilot was the nicest vehicle of the pack. There is so much thought put into this vehicle, that we are finding new things every day. The center console alone had a lot of thought and design put into it.
We use it to tow our 23 foot boat, and experience no problems when doing so.
This vehicle has more space than appears. We can comfortably fit strollers and wagons that wouldn't fit in our Cherokee.
Excellent Vehicle - Highly recommend - VERY well priced @ 25k
