Pros: Good gas mileage. Easy to maintain.
Cons: Small inside. Not alot of power.
The Bottom Line: Good car for scooting around town or even taking off road. Bad for a trip.

My wife owns an 06 Jeep Liberty. At the time I met her I owned an 02 Nissan Xterra. To my disapointment, she was going up an icy hill as I followed. Both vehicles had new tires. She went with no problem while I sat and spun. The drive train of the 06 ... read more

Jul 23, 2008 (A Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: comfortable seating, 4x4, nice ride
Cons: lower gas mileage, little glove box
The Bottom Line: I think that if you need 4x4 and don't want a pickup that this would be a great thing to purchase.

I purchase a Jeep Liberty Limited Edition in April. It only had 34000 miles on it and I don't think that anybody had ever sat in the back seat. We paid $14900 for it and it even still had some warranty on it. It has electric seats, locks and ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Solid, sturdy
Cons: cheap interior, ugly exterior, drinks gas like a fish.
The Bottom Line: a low cost, sturdy 4wd vehicle. the low price gets made up at the pump.

I recently had the opportunity to drive a 2006 Jeep Liberty and was much more impressed with the SUV as a whole then with the 2003 version I drove the base 4wd model with the standard features. The liberty has a very solid feel and drives like a car, ... read more

Pros: Sporty, fun to drive.
Cons: Noisy, and transmission is clunky.
The Bottom Line: The Liberty is a fun-to-drive, small SUV. It has a few problems but I recommend it if you can tolerate the road noise.

This review was moved from Helium.com I've been driving a 2006 Jeep Liberty for about three weeks now, and I have to say I like it. It has its faults to be sure, but in general it's a fun little SUV. Actually, I've driven two different ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Does everything well, surprising cargo capacity.
Cons: Not a class leader in any one area, interior stains easily.
The Bottom Line: A great do-it-all vehicle for people who require variety in the capability of their SUV.

Overview In 2002, the Jeep Liberty (KJ) debuted as a replacement for the Jeep Cherokee (XJ). In addition to the aesthetic redesign, major changes were to the drivetrain, replacing the 4.0L inline six with a 3.7L V6 and replacing the solid ... read more

Solid Truck with Horrible Seats

by newzpix
Aug 9, 2007 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Good Size - Engine is smooth - 4-wheel drive is world-class
Cons: Seats are horrible - Gas mileage - Tailgate design - Premium Stereo is muddy
The Bottom Line: If you don't mind a terrible seat and need a strong 4-wheel drive that can traverse the Alps -- this is your truck!

2006 Liberty Limited 3.7 Select-Trac w/ESP This is a solid truck ... and not a car-based wanna be SUV. The 6-cylinder engine is sufficient to propel you to illegal speeds on the highway and to grunt through the Rubicon Trail. The automatic ... read more

The Bottom Line: If someone stole it today, I'd buy another tomorrow!

I've had my brand new Liberty 12 months now & just hit 34,000 miles (I drive alot)and it has been excellent. I was surprised to read in the manual that Jeep suggests changing the rear end fluid EVERY 12,000 miles! I've been having the dealership do it ... read more

Apr 30, 2007 - Updated Mar 27, 2011 (A Very Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: 2.8L Intercooled Turbo Diesel, Fuel Mileage, Full Time 4WD, Part Time 4WD and 4LO
Cons: Limited Production ~11,200 units, Diesel Clatter might take a bit to get used to
The Bottom Line: The value of the Jeep Liberty CRD really is greater than the "Sum of It's Parts". Fuel Mileage, Towing, 4x4, Safety!

The Little Diesel that could! Everyone is familiar with the Large Truck Diesels in the US Market, but don't let this Torque Monster "Escape" (Ford Humor) your "short list". It deserves a serious gander if you are in the market for a midsize Sport ... read more

Pros: A great handling SUV.
Cons: I had to drive over 100 miles to get this model but worth it.
The Bottom Line: A great purchase for it's size and handling.

My husband wanted this little SUV in a diesel model more than any other car out there. Well, for once, he was right. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee but now I drive the Liberty more often. The steering, handling and pick-up on this diesel model is ... read more

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Mileage, 4x4 capability, style
Cons: Not as roomy as I was used to, but otherwise nothing!
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Jeep Liberty CRD - it is a reasonably priced compact SUV, with great mileage and it's practical if you will be encountering poor driving conditions.

I bought my Jeep Liberty Sport (CRD, aka common-rail diesel) just over a week ago. I live in Alberta and I was able to get it on a 3 year lease for 0% interest, payments and payout at end of lease are very reasonable. Purchase price would have been ... read more

Cons: Cramped rear leg room, no cubby holes, little storage.
The Bottom Line: Great SUV, I absolutely recommend the liberty for power, handling and appeal.

Feb 19, 2006 (A Somewhat Helpful review)

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Rugged, sporty feel. Lots of engine power. excelent foul weather vehicle
Cons: - feels a little cramped - needs more leg room
The Bottom Line: would make an excellent commuter or sports enthusiast vehicle. Not recommended as a long road trip car.

I've rented a Jeep Liberty twice now because it has been a vehicle I am seriously considering buying. During my two usages there are some obvious things I can point out. But, I will admit, it's not quite the same as owning/driving one day-in/day-out. ... read more

Pros: Tows like a big rig, just watch your tongue weight.
Cons: Don't like the seat surface material.
I bought the Jeep Liberty specifically for towing. I am a weekend musician and pull a 6X12 loaded down trailer. It was the only good (decent) mileage SUV that tows 5000lbs out there. It was easy to find one with a factory tow package too. I don't

Cons: dealer/service knowledge
I bought my 06' CRD in November 2005 and after 27K miles I could not be happier. I wish I could afford to buy another and stash it away for when this one gives up the ghost. Too bad it was only made for two years. It is small but not too small. It

I've had the Liberty CRD for 15 months. It's the best overall vehicle I've owned. I get 23 mpg for my normal everyday driving and close to 30 mpg on the highway. The engine has great torque. It pulls my 20' utility trailer with ease. It handles

Pros: Great styling. Legendary Jeep off road 4X4 handling. Great in the snow.
Cons: Liberty has looked the same since inception. Time for a makeover!
We bought our Liberty Renegade exactly one year ago and it has been wonderful. No problems and always fun to drive. The 4X4 is as advertised by Jeep, legendary. We drove in very heavy snow for over 100 miles on the highway last week and experienced no
