Pros: Rich interior materials, Camry fuel economy, cushy seats, better to drive than the RX 350. Cons: Smallish cargo area, no third-row seating, priced $5,000 higher than a similarly-equipped RX 350. The Bottom Line: The 400h adds better fuel economy and an improved driving experience to Lexus' already-excellent RX. It's arguably the first hybrid to let buyers have their cake and eat it, too.
Background Two years ago, I dodged a bullet. My fiancees mother had decided to buy a luxury SUV, and I was appointed the task of finding just the right one. I fretted. I researched. I fretted some more. And finally, given her ...

Pros: Interior quality, refined engine, reliability Cons: So-so transmission, springy handling The Bottom Line: Overall, the RX filled my need for a short-term loaner and provided a comfortable ride around town. But I wouldn't put down $35k of my money for one.
My Experience: So my I
S350
had to go in to the shop to do some recall work. Nothing very important just some problem with the seat belt. (!) Anyway, the folks at my local Lexus were gracious enough to ...

Pros: Fun to drive, fuel economy, powerful, handling, safety, comfort Cons: None - it does what it is supposed to do The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle for anyone that needs an SUV, has a budget for a Lexus, and wants fuel economy without giving up the pleasure of driving.
Update: I've had my hybrid for nearly three years (June 2008,) and nearing 30,000 miles. Living near Los Angles, there are too many times that I am bumper to bumper, crawling along just a tad bit slower than a turtle. I'm on battery power since I am ...

Pros: Best Navigation on the market, luxury, reliability, safety, features. Incredibly high resale. Cons: No MP3 port, more power would make the package complete. The Bottom Line: Full of luxury, not for budget conscious buyers.
What makes me a car guy? I have read almost every car magazine for the last 20 years. I have driven tons of different vehicles, and worked in the business in college. Cars are my passion! Why did I pick the Rx330 for my wife? All-wheel drive, best ...

Pros: Quiet, fast, luxurious with excellent mileage for a large crossover SUV Cons: Extra expense can't be recovered in gas savings only The Bottom Line: If you have the money, go ahead and upgrade to the RX 400h. Its extra power, quietness and fuel thriftiness is worth the expense.
I've driven a Lexus RX 300 for 2 years and an RX 330 for about 2 years, and suffice it to say that I've been pleased on almost all aspects. The cars fundamentally are extremely quiet, handle well considering their size and weight and give reasonable gas ...

Pros: Comfort, handling, acceleration, safety, styling, luxury. Cons: Mediocre improvement in economy over the non-hybrid; nowhere near justifying the difference in price. The Bottom Line: Buy the H400 for lower emissions and increased mileage at low speeds, otherwise buy the RX330 and save the money. Avoid the Highlander.
(See update 2/11/06 at bottom!) I recently tested this car and its Toyota counterpart, the Highlander Hybrid. I am looking to replace a 1999 Lexus RX300 with a new SUV and am very interested in improved gas mileage and lower emissions. My first ...

Pros: Awesome nav system, Integrated Bluetooth! Hybrid technology is environmentally friendly w/o sacrificing POWER. Cons: No MP3 jack, no integrated iPod option, no miles left on gas gauge. The Bottom Line: 100% love the Lexus 400h. Low road-noise, Quiet engine, Fuel efficient with amazing power, fully loaded features and integrated Bluetooth. There's just no comparison.
I know many complain about the price difference between the Hybrid 400h and the RX330 or RX350. I did not test drive the RX330 or RX350 because I wanted to FEEL like I was doing something good for the environment. Price aside, the base package of the ...

Pros: Comfortable, reliable, energy-efficient but super-fast.
Cons: No third-row seating option. Navigation is extra. Pricier. The Bottom Line: Highly recommended for people on the go. The fuel efficiency is remarkable in city driving. The RX 400 is the perfect luxury hybrid UTILITY vehicle around.
Coming from driving performance cars (M3, 540i) and a full-size SUV (LX 470) for the last 10 years, driving the RX400h is truly a big change. I guess a change in lifestyle comes hand in hand with a lot of changes, such as the vehicle one drives. As a ...

Pros: Quiet, Mileage, Comfort, Space, Stereo, Navigation System, Appearance, Acceleration, Easy to Park, Backup Camera Cons: Premium gas, trunk high off the ground The Bottom Line: If Lexus is in your price range and you are looking for a small/medium SUV then get this one!
This is a great SUV that certainly won't disappoint. It is a good size, but isn't so large that you can't see anything and can't park it. It is easy to get stuff in and out of the car and the trunk door has a button you can push to make it shut itself. ...

Pros: The car handles well Cons: The air conditioning stops working and Lexus does not know how to fix it The Bottom Line: The RX 350 is a great car if you don't mind the air conditioning not working and Lexus not knowing how to fix it
I have driven Lexus cars for many years. Aside from small problems that were resolved I have found the cars to be reliable. I recently replaced my RX 300 with the updated RX 350. I was very pleased with it. I was surprised when after 4000 miles the air ...

Pros: Despite all electronics this is a reliable car, the hybrid concept is interesting. Cons: Hybrid, but not economical at all. Just not the brilliant car i expected. The Bottom Line: The hybrid concept is about economy, this luxury car is all but economy. The marriage is technically perfect, but not attractive to me. Too good to be rated as average.
Daddy, this car can keep up with the Porche Cayenne from 0 to 100 km/h, announced my son. So i took it to a european highway to test it full speed. I had the pleasure to drive a hybrid toyota prius, that was really amazing me. So now i went testing the ...

Pros: -laser guided cruise control
-brilliant hid lighting
-awesome gas mileage
- power to spare Cons: can't think of any ,maybe a larger wheel size say 20" The Bottom Line: all in all this is a great truck for the money. it looks like an suv, holds all the cargo u can throw at it,and handles like a dream.
This is an awesome truck. the design of the exterior, the insides, the electronic gadgets all scream quality. i couldn't believe that this truck quite literally drives itself the laser guided cruise control is second to none it's almost too good to be ...

Luxury SUV that is fun to drive.

Pros: Fuel economy is good and the acceleration and handling is very good. Quality and luxury. Cons: The braking noise takes some getting use to.
Excellent body design with luxury features usually reserved for sedans. Quality and comfort are top rate. I have had this vehicle for 2000 miles now and I am very pleased with everything. The gas mileage is not as good as advertised but still good for such a SUV. I was getting 24-25 mpg combined hwy/city before switching to 89 octane. Now I am getting 27.5 combined hwy/city.

Pros: It's quiet, acceleration is excellent Cons: Put the salesman on speed dial
The only thing I like about this car is the emissions. The fuel economy avg 25 mpg is not as good as my Dad's 2004 Nissan, a $12k purchase. The heated seat control is a tiny dial that is hard to use. The steering is "funny" it feels like tires out of alignment one minute and then not the next. The onboard computer screen is not user friendly, too complicated and will cause numerous accidents due to the frustrations of using it and not finding simple info such as "miles to empty". The A/C system only adjusts the temp, fan speed is "auto/on/off". The voice recognition system seems to have a very narrow window of understanding. The radio/cd/ cassette??? doesn't have quality of sounds options and has a "mute" system without any kind of marker. If you don't read the book, go through the 3 hr orientation you'll never know why there is no sound coming from your brand new $55k vehicle.
