Pros: cost effective; economical gas mileage; service at Saturn; "no haggle pricing," leasing options Cons: acceleration; problems with electrical components; possible safety concerns The Bottom Line: The Saturn Ion gets you from Point A to Point B and is affordable. Service is great, but with the Ion you get what you pay for.
Disclosure: In the interest of full disclosure, I must point out why I picked the Saturn Ion for my mode of transportation. My old car gave up. The brakes and struts went out a few weeks after I had the transmission replaced. It was ...

Pros: Polymer side panels; decent acceleration; AUX jack for iPod or MP3 player Cons: Hard plastic interior pieces; distinctive styling The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone who needs basic transportation. The polymer panels makes a good choice for anyone who lives in a city or has tight parking requirements.
We recently bought a 2006 Saturn ION 2 for our daughter to take to college this fall. As our family already owns two Saturns, the decision to purchase a third was fairly easy to make; we did not even look at other manufacturers. Exterior ...

Pros: Ride, comfort, space, radio/MP3, performance, quiet. Cons: Looks homely, instrument bin in center of dash. The Bottom Line: If the looks do not turn you off, the Saturn buying experience is just for you.
2006 Saturn Ion I recently had to take a long trip (800 miles total), and since it is cheaper for my company to rent than pay me mileage to drive my car, I went to the local rental place and was surprised to find myself with a Saturn Ion. I have ...

Pros: Zippy car, good looking, fun to drive. Cons: Held together with paperclips and prayer. The Bottom Line: The Saturn Ion would be a fun car if it weren't for the shoddy workmanship. Saturn built the Ion to be just reliable enough to be legal.
When I go car shopping, I have to admit, I am not much of a technical specs person. I do not know much about mechanics, so things like a timing chain do not mean much to me. I am all aesthetic. I like how a car looks and feels, and that is what I base my ...

Pros: Polymer panels, Standard OnStar, Lively engine Cons: No standard ABS and no dummy pedal The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a car with different styling and polymer panels, as well as a base engine with plenty of power, the ION is a suitable choice!
Before I got this car, I owned a 2004 ION-3 Quad Coupe. It was a neat car, but with some flaws. I would say it had questionable build quality and a finicky CVT or Continuously Variable Transmission. I had the opportunity to trade it for an 2006 ION-2 ...

Pros: design, roominess, trunk space, customer service Cons: dashboard, engine noise The Bottom Line: One of the best values on American market, comfortable and reliable
My first encounter with the Saturn Ion was a showroom brochure from a Saturn Dealer. My second encouter with this beautiful sedan has been rather unexpected: I have received a 2006 dark blue Saturn Ion as a rental for a weekend in San Francisco. Then I ...

Pros: Great pick up, beautiful exterior Cons: Driver's seat not supportive The Bottom Line: This is a great car, backed by great service from Saturn.
Bought the 2006 Saturn Ion 3 with the Enhanced Performance Package, giving it a 2.4L engine, mag wheels, better suspension and brakes. It also has the traveler's package which adds a light dimming rear-view mirror, directional and temperature display, ...

Pros: Good engine/transmission; comfy ride; nice paint job; roomy storage. Cons: Leaky; devil-possessed electrical system; faulty moonroof, carpet & seats stain easily The Bottom Line: Despite the reliable engine/transmission, it's still a thumbs-down, given the shoddy manufacturing that caused ongoing leaks & problems with the electric system.
I'm one month away from the end of my 4-year lease on this car and am hoping that it will not break down before I turn it in. I pity the poor soul who buys this thing, because it would appear, on test drive, to be a really nice car with ...

Pros: great value, handling, power, features Cons: none so far but I have an open mind The Bottom Line: Highly recommend this vehicle, just keep in mind what it is that you want out of it. If you buy bottom end, you get bottom end. Even with a Honda
I purchased a 2006 Saturn ion 3 manual after countless hours or research on the car. Everyone seems to have complaints about the car, but if you do it right and take your time there is no reason to not like or even love this car. I upgraded to the 2.4 ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, power package, sunroof, comfortable seating, sporty Cons: Gages located in center of dash facing driver hard to get used to The Bottom Line: I would recommend this vehicle to anyway. It looks sporty, it is comfortable, drives very well, and uses little fuel!
I recently purchased this car and I have to say I love it. I originally wanted to purchase this vehicle from Saturn years ago and now that I have the vehicle I couldn't be happier. It is extremely comfortable, comes with rear bucket style seats and is ...

Pros: Looks nice. Cons: Many and often The Bottom Line: Its a plastic toy. OK for cheap transport, but you'll be embarassed by it's poor build quality
This car was designed by high school interns. Thats the only explaination I can come up with as to why its built like it is. No respectable design team would have come up with some of these dim bulb ideas. Take the plastic body. No really, take it ...

Pros: good fuel economy, nice stereo Cons: not a lot of room, don't like the center console
My dad let me use this car when I was in high school. I honestly thought it ran pretty good considering it was Minnesota where it is extremely cold temperatures. I wasn't a big fan of the amount of room in the car.
When my dad went to the showroom and showed me it, I honestly thought it looked like a silver mouse.
