No Luck Truck

by hd4me
Oct 20 '09 - Updated Dec 14 '09

Author's Product Rating: 20 Recommended: No

Pros: Car-like handling, looks, back seats, head lights and gas mileage.
Cons: TRANSMISSION!!!!!!!! Navigation/ Radio controls
The Bottom Line: Get a 2008, 2009 or hold out for the twin turbo 2010. I would recommend this whole heartedly if it weren't for the auto trans.

I will try to be as objective as I can, being someone who has his truck in the shop right now. I have had my truck now for about 2 months. Of that time, I've only been able to drive it for about half that time. The ...

2007 BMW X3 ... a much improved vehicle!!

by blacknapkins
May 14 '08

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great engine. Excellent road manners when pushed to its limits. Six speed manual.
Cons: Pricy, especially with options. Tight back seat even for a compact SUV.
The Bottom Line: Buy it if you want great handling with sports car like performance in a compact SUV. Very solid feel, providing great confidence when pushed to its limits.

If you're like me, looking for a compact SUV (BMW calls it SAV)with a 6 spd manual clutch (rare these days)that demonstrates "near" sports car like handling and speed... the 07 X3 is a great choice. My first experience with this vehicle was in 2004. ...

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Phenomenal engine, increadible driving dynamics, great gas mileage! 6 speed manual!!!!!
Cons: seat comfort could be better for this class of car.
The Bottom Line: If you want a superior ride, handling and one of the best handling cars in the slop, at least look at the X3.

During the summer of 2007, I decided to trade in my 2007 Volvo T5 wagaon,(5 Speed Manual). Although this was a good solid, reliable car, I found it lacking in several areas, notible ride quietness and overall performance ride. Hence I started to look ...

The new station wagon

by harwick
Oct 16 '07

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Great lease programs. Attractive total package. The Station wagon alternative. Enjoyable to drive!
Cons: Sound system mediocre. 8' long items don't fit well. Takes premium gas.
The Bottom Line: This is the new station wagon. The registration says "suburban" and it is perfect for my suburban needs.

I got this vehicle in June 2007 when my old Mercedes signaled that it was going to have transmission problems (at over 300,000 miles) I wanted a station wagon. The new Mercedes station wagons were not solid like my old 1989 300E was. There actually ...

good, comfortable car

Jul 05 '07 - Updated Jul 11 '07

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes

Pros: good size, handles well, comfortable ride, sporty look
Cons: actual MPG not as advertised, few other minor annoyances
The Bottom Line: It's fun to drive and absolutely the best car available in it's size class. The advanced technology features (navigation, bluetooth, satellite & iPod integration) are great to have.

I bought a new 2007 X3 in January, and overall I enjoy driving it and am glad I made this choice. I was looking for a comfortable, high-performance car with high-tech features that would fit two car seats and leave room for lots of additional cargo. ...

The Worst BMW ever made?

by clayzer
Jul 02 '07

Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No

Pros: The BMW drive, The audio system, fun to drive
Cons: The price is totally whacked! The seats are TERRIBLE!
The Bottom Line: I would not buy this car, nor would I recommend anyone to buy this vehicle.

I have been looking for a new SUV. I received an offer of a restaurant gift certificate to test drive this SUV. Never one to pass up a free meal, I did the test drive. I have always had a soft spot for BMWs. I have owned several over the years, ...

Not a great real-world SUV

by kpmgrajm
May 30 '07

Author's Product Rating: 30 Recommended: No

Pros: Handling, acceleration, quality
Cons: Bumpy, space, noise
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend this for anyone wanting an SUV or crossover experience. There are cheaper in both category that give more car.

This car is a BMW. That means to say it is meant for sport more than for real world living. If you are looking for an SUV that you can haul things around in, or even haul the family around in, look elsewhere. It's really not for you. The car ...

Interesting concept, but pricey

by brucec32
Apr 27 '07

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Handling, visability, comfort, ride, safety
Cons: Styling not quite right, high cost, some interior elements, lacks storage space for class.
The Bottom Line: If you have the money for this vehicle, you could probably swing a better looking X5. Or better yet, a competitor's vehicle for less money.

This is my review of a 2007 X3 we got as a loaner while our car was in the shop. At first glance I'd have to say that the X5 looks a lot better. The proportions strike me as being better and it looks more aggressive than the X3, which looks like ...

After 18 months car remains excellent!

by ericjtucker
Mar 18 '07 - Updated Sep 03 '08

Author's Product Rating: 40 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Beautiful exterior and interior, fast engine, giant sunroof
Cons: Expensive, cryptic dashboard buttons, poor voice recognition, lame "cargo net" option
The Bottom Line: Considering the financing promotion I received, this is the best small-mid luxury SUV on the market.

I leased the X3 new in Feb '07 with the Premium Package and a bunch of extras - MSRP was $43,570. I narrowed down the search to two cars in the $40K small-mid luxury SUV category: BMW X3 and Acura RDX. On paper both cars are superior, with more ...

Never Again
by daddy-man
Apr 21 '08
Author's Product Rating: 10 Recommended: No
Pros: Handling on turns, Heated seats, heated steering wheel, panoramic roof.
Cons: Unpredictable automatic transmission. Does not accelerate on rolling stops, upward turns, or in cold weather.
This was to be my first among many BMW's. It is my last. The transmission is so unpredictable it makes the vehicle dangerous. The shifting in "D" (normal) mode will hesitate between 2-3 gear. This makes it very dangerous when merging into traffic as well

Pros: Great handling, looks, comfort, fuel mileage, & owner satisfaction.
Cons: Sensitive brakes & gas pedal.
BMW has hit the nail on the head again! Our 2007 X3 is a pure pleasure to own and drive. It meets or exceeds all the expectations we had when we ordered it from the factory in September of 06! The handling & acceleration are superb, the fuel mileage

Author's Product Rating: 50 Recommended: Yes
Pros: Great design, performance, quality, sunroof, interior size, free maintenance
Cons: Expensive,
After driving about 10 different cars (Fall 2006) the BMW X3si stood head and shoulders above the Honda, Toyota, Subaru, Mazda, Hyundai, medium and small SUVs. The overall technology, performance, driving enjoyment, and design won us over. In addition
