Pros: Styling, styling, styling. Rigid closed structure builds on roadster's strengths: straight-six brawn, pointy chassis. Cons: Limp electric steering tramlines on too many surfaces, rock-hard ride, brittle interior plastics, cramped. The Bottom Line: Still a deeply flawed sports car, the Z4 Coupe manages to be "characterful" where the roadster simply disappoints. Its achingly beautiful lines doubtless play a large part.
Background As a tagline, “The Ultimate Driving Machine” sounds more than a little hyperbolic. But there’s some truth to it. Nearly every model BMW builds, from the 328i to the X5, is renowned for its smooth power, ...

Pros: A sure to be classic. Cons: None to me. The Bottom Line: This is a futuristic car that will be a sure classic.
I upgraded my 2001 yellow Z3 3.0 in January 2007 to a triple black Z4 3.0i. Where my Z3 was an excellent driving machine, my Z4 is exceptional! Both Z's were built at the BMW plants in Spartanburg, South Carolina. My only complaint with my Z3 was the ...

Pros: Awesome value, built very solid, audiophile stereo, F1 driving experience, top-down fun! Cons: options can be expensive, low road clearance The Bottom Line: Awesome buy, good value, quiet as a hard-top, audiophile stereo system, awesome performance & power! A test-drive MUST!
I have owned a 2001 ///M Roadster coupe, a 2004 3.0i with the Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG), and now a 2007 3.0si and the newest Z4 is INCREDIBLE! So many new standard features. The 2001 had 315 HP, but only a 5-speed. Compared to the 2004's 225 ...

Pros: Snazzy, fun to drive, turns heads, lots of power and a great vehicle in general. Cons: Use of high test gas. A little rough riding. Takes some getting used to. The Bottom Line: If you want a fun car, for weekend trips or around town, and can afford the extra vehicle this is the car for you.
I bought this one because I loved the looks of the coupe and am not a roadster person. The coupe has so much class. It rides well although a little hard but that is part of the sports car feel. I am probably a little older than the average owner and at ...

Pros: Exotic look, Great Interior, Outstanding brakes,
Decent trunk space for sports car. Cons: Handling was finicky, a little overpriced.
I haven't been to excited with the Bangleism(The Chief Designer-Chris Bangle for latest iterations of BMW); and I know I'm not the only one.
Inside, very fitting and stylish and to BMW standards. However, to look at the back window was a bit of a challenge.
Power, very good. The perennial M3 in-line 6 has been a proven winner. Funny thing though, they detuned this engine to 315hp to the standard 333hp. I'm not sure what gives.
Handling, kind of reminded of Porsche 911, in the sense if it lets go there is no turning back. You'll have to drive it for yourself to know what I mean. With any rain, snow, dirt and what not will amplify this problem.
Brakes were without a doubt the best I've ever tried.
The price is reasonable, but for the price I would be looking at Cayman or Boxster S.
