Pros: Styling, room, versatility, ride quality, quietness Cons: Feel their size in tight turns, seats could be better The Bottom Line: Properly equipped, the GMC Acadia is the sportiest of GM's three new large crossovers.
One of my grad school professors once advised, "Why publish once what you could publish thrice?" In other words, tweak a single piece to get three publications out of it. GM likes doing the same with vehicles. So instead of one new large crossover (i.e. ...

Pros: Good ride/fuel economy/cargo space, lots of creature comforts, decent tow capacity. Cons: 2nd/3rd row seats don't recline enough. "Smart-slide" tracks potentially collect debris. Typical GM reliability. The Bottom Line: If you can get one for a good price, it might be worth getting over the Honda Pilot. But I'd have to recommend the Pilot at this point.
Updated Nov. 2009If you currently own a mid-size SUV, have a growing family, and are looking for a slightly larger vehicle with better fuel economy than a full-size, V-8 powered SUV and can't stand the thought of driving a minivan, ...

Pros: Lots of room for up to 8 people, good looks Cons: 16 MPG on city/freeway driving, no full-size spare tire The Bottom Line: General Motors made a winner, definitely go and check it out. Though other vehicles might beat it in some areas, the Acadia excels in most.
Introduction After two months of searching for my ideal people mover I signed on the dotted line and purchased a 2007 GMC Acadia SLE. I love America and American products and I try to purchase American products whenever I can. ...

Pros: Third row seat access and comfort, automatic liftgate, appearance, American made. Cons: Driver's seat too wide, mesh cover for sunroof, hard to adjust DVD player audio. The Bottom Line: Best SUV with a third row out there; classy sporty appearance; nice smooth quiet drive on the highway; great car for the value.
About 6 months ago, we embarked on a search for a replacement to my beloved Jeep Grand Cherokee that I drove for nearly 10 years and was really hesitant to replace, but the time had come. We wanted an SUV with the option of a third row of seats to ...

Pros: Comfortable and quiet riding. Better handling and better choice than minivan. Cons: Backup camera should be standard for safety. Rear window cannot roll down. The Bottom Line: Try it first before buying minivan.
This is my second year that the car still provides comfortable ride and reliability. Design: Love its design and style, especially its dynamic and sporty look. The interior has been improved a lot for this American car with ...

Pros: It's a Truck, It's big inside like a mini-van, It's a powerful V6. LOOKS. On-Star Cons: It's not a Lexus, but very usefull.. The Bottom Line: If you want a Mini-Van replacement, this is it!
This truck will bring GMC to a higher level in usefulness, style and value. This truck can best be described as the best of two worlds. That is, it brings the benefits of a mini-van and a truck, into this well made SUV. Like a mini van it has 3 ...

Pros: Comfortable seating and ride. Lots of room. Cons: Annoying rear lift gate and too many gadgets to break. The Bottom Line: If you want a smaller SUV loaded with power assisted gadgets, you'll like the Acadia. Freeway driving was fine, but it could use more power when starting on hills.
I had the chance to rent a 2007 GMC Acadia for a week in a recent visit to Maine. I have mixed emotions about the vehicle. On the plus side, the ride was comfortable and freeway cruising was great. I really appreciated the backup warning sensor system ...

Pros: Very comfortable, BOSE noise cancelling stereo, decent gas mileage Cons: Intermittent wipers and access to wiper controls, minor squeak in the brake pedal
We have owned our Acadia for 6 months and have 11,000 miles. We bought it trimmed in the SLT-2 package. It has comfortably transported 6 people 375 each way on a family vacation, taken the family skiing, pulls our boat with ease and has been a pleasure to drive and own. We get about 18 mpg around town and low 20's on a long highway trip. It is a 5,000 vehicle. If you drive it with a heavy foot, you will get less than15 mpg. I had to change my driving habits around town and on the highway to get better gas mileage.
Overall the vehicle has been excellent, I just installed the factory roof rack bars so we can mount our skis. I would also recommend the side step running boards. Very helpful for older passengers, when washing the car and loading/unloading the roof racks .
