Calling it like it is

by mkaresh mkaresh is a Lead on Epinions in Cars & Motorsports, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 10
Apr 29 '06 - Updated Aug 26 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Versatile interior, fuel economy, won't find a cheaper automatic with shift buttons, quiet on highway
Cons: Ugly, expected sharper reflexes, susceptible to crosswinds, pricey
The Bottom Line: Despite the versatile interior, I'm not seeing good value for money here.

Back in high school I delivered prescriptions for a pharmacy in an early 1980s Honda Civic. That car's 1.3-liter engine kicked out only 62 horsepower, but owing to its small size and 1800-pound curb weight it was a blast to zip around town in. Over ...

by mrkstvns, Epinions Most Popular Authors - Top 50

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: At last! A well-made, fun-to-drive, small car.
Cons: Few and far between.
The Bottom Line: Thinking of trading in your hulking gas guzzler on something small and smart? Take a look at the new Honda Fit---it's even better than the price!

Waaaa-Hoooo!! I haven't had this much fun in a small car since I traded in my old BMW Z3 years ago! Now I'm not gonna stand here and tell you that the Honda Fit is any BMW, no sirree, Bob, but I will tell you that this is one ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: HUGE cargo carrying ability. Nimble and fun. 31/37 mpg gas mileage. Brilliant execution and design.
Cons: Strange carpet substance, lack of interior gas hatch release. More power would make it perfection.
The Bottom Line: If you want fun, speedy handling, great gas mileage, ease of use and the ultimate in utility, this is your car.

I always look for cars that can haul as much stuff as possible in a size as small as possible and are easy to drive. Over the years, every time I've been in the market for a car, this was my quest. Pure and simple. My cars are tools, not some transient ...

Nov 11 '06 - Updated Jun 10 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Sharp looks, Great Handling, Good Pickup, Spacious Interior, Great Value.
Cons: Lower than advertised Fuel Consumption, cheap interior materials for throughout, lack of lumbar support.
The Bottom Line: At $16,500 plus tax this car is a good value for what you get.

2007 Honda Fit Sport Automatic With rising fuel costs and after 8 years of driving a pickup truck, I decided that the $350 a month for gas was a bit much. I researched the new crop of fuel thrifty vehicles. As a result of my research I purchased a ...

Amazing car!

Nov 22 '06 - Updated Jun 08 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Attractive, very quick/agile, gas mileage, unbelievably versatile cargo area
Cons: Only con is that I can't drive 24/7.
The Bottom Line: Buy it! Cheaper than competitors and more fun to drive. Great interior (except maybe the carpet) and attractive exterior. Great value!

I've been in the market for a new car for a few weeks now, but not necessarily serious about getting one immediately. But when my 2001 Chevy S-10 went back to the shop for the third time in three weeks, I decided that it was time to make it a top ...

The new Fit is a good "fit" for our lifestyle

by catladyfla

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Good mileage. Peppy and fun to drive. Great cargo space.
Cons: Poor excuse for carpet that isn't likely to last very long.
The Bottom Line: If you're looking for a car that is small, practical, but still fun to drive, test drive a Fit.

I drove a Miata for 7 years. It was lots of fun, but impractical (you should have seen the day I had to buy a Christmas tree with it!). It was also aging. At 115,000 miles, it was showing typical aging-car symptoms. I could put a lot of money into it, ...

I love it!

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: good amount of space for such a small car, great handling, great fit!
Cons: susceptibility to winds, no room for left foot on driver's side
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a good small car at a reasonable price.

I first test-drove this car in a Silver Base model on April 19th when they first came rolling off the truck. After waiting for nearly a year to be able to see this car in person, I was surprised (although not too much) at the size. It seemed so small! ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: I get cool mom points for my cute car ;)
Cons: Freaky 'carpet' texture, for lack of a better word
The Bottom Line: Drive this car and you will love it.. I have heard some comment on the drivers seat, but I have no problems at 5'7"

Ive had my little BOM (Burnt Orange Metal) Fit for about a month now, just turned over 2k miles, and I love it more every day. Regarding the mileage, I have read many reviews and comments on fitfreak.net that it usually improves over the first few ...

The little car that thinks it's a giant

Feb 21 '07

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas mileage, built in auxiliary jack, fun to drive.
Cons: Light weight, so the wind pushes it around a bit, doesn't come with floor mats.
The Bottom Line: I love this car. It's comfortable and fun to drive, and I plan to do so for many years.

I was in a position where I had to get a new car. I wanted to get Honda because of the reliability. I had been driving an '89 Ford Escort hatchback to and from work, and my fiance's 98 Buick Regal when we were both off. Her Regal hit the end of it's ...

The economy car that you will actually WANT to drive

by pddolan
Jun 20 '06

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fuel efficient, fun, stylish, sporty handling, little luxuries on Sport model
Cons: No armrest, passenger mirror, or dead pedal but these are minor to me
The Bottom Line: If you are looking to save money without driving an unoriginal and boring econobox, this is the car for you. Amazing style and handling built into a practical car.

Once again Honda has shown their ability for engineering and attention to the market. The Honda Fit manages to be an affordable and efficient economy car with the handling, style, and overall fun of a racer. (A Car and Driver article confirms this!) ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Gas Mileage, Styling, Bells and Whistles, Roominess, and Paddle shifters.
Cons: None! A well-built car that does what we need it to do and more.
The Bottom Line: Buy one. Great gas mileage and space. It's a Honda, so you know it's quality.

We bought a 2007 Fit Sport with an Automatic transmission in august 2006. Traded in a 2001 Subaru Outback which was plagued with problems. Since then, we've loved every second of owning the Fit. Good looking, good gas mileage, and plenty of space. I ...

Fit Versus Versa

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 3.0 Recommended: No

Pros: Economy, instrument panel, reliability, resale value
Cons: uncomfortable, severe crosswind buffeting, noisy, spartan interior, lack of options
The Bottom Line: Sincerely suggest you also test drive and consider a Versa

I recently went looking for a small, economical car to purchase as primarily a commuter vehicle for myself, but also something that could be taken on long haul trips. Day to day commuting was most important in my mind, as was gas mileage, but again, I ...

Pros: fuel efficient, cute, small and practical
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: Loads of standard features and small price.

I love my Fit. I learned about this great car on hybridcars.com. I thought that it was a hybrid until the salesperson at the Honda dealership corrected my assumption. Hybrids are out of my budget and the Fit was the perfect fit. No pun intended, well ...

Honda Fit Sport MT5 Long Term Experience

by rgrueber
May 07 '08

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Fun to drive. Flexible space usage. Great mileage. Very safe automobile for being small.
Cons: Could use left foot rest. Radio reception is a bit spotty. Factory carpeting cheap.
The Bottom Line: If you can find a Honda Fit, buy one before the gas prices hit $5.00 a gallon. The manual transmission gets the better mileage and is more fun to drive.

Bought my Fit Sport in November of 2006 for sticker of $15,750. I have been driving it to and from work and on longer trips. My low mileage is 32 mpg with a max of 42 mpg on the highway. The carrying capacity is wonderful as the magic of the interior ...

Pros: lots of space, good gas milage
Cons: in very high demand, hard to get the color you want.
The Bottom Line: great car for anyone, can fit any lifestyle

I just became a mom about 4 months ago, and needed a car that could handle all the extra stuff that comes with being a new parent: stroller, carseat, diaper back, etc. We test drove everything, and it took us over a month to decide what would be best ...
