Pros: Remains a true Jeep, innovative roof, reasonable noise levels, acceptable handling Cons: Weak engine, overly tall gearing, still handles much worse than the average car The Bottom Line: Better late than never: Jeep finally offers a four-door Wrangler, and one that is both off-road capable and on-road livable.
Back in 1997, Jeep introduced the Jeep Dakar at the Detroit auto show. The Dakar, a "concept car," was essentially a four-door Wrangler. You can read about it here: http://www.allpar.com/model/je

I thought it an excellent idea, ...

Pros: Reliable, powerful engine, 4wd Cons: Leaky freedom top, poor gas mileage, rear seat construction The Bottom Line: Overall the 2007 Jeep Wrangler is a very solid car.
My wife purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler a bit over two years ago. The Jeep was purchased brand new and she uses it daily to commute to work and run errands in the city. The majority of the travel this Jeep sees is urban driving with some ...

Pros: Finally has more room than the older jeeps. Neato 3 piece hard top. Cons: Quirky vehicle, Expensive feature/cost structure assumes you are buying because you are a fan. The Bottom Line: If you are dead set on getting a Jeep, look at this vehicle. Expect to be treated as though you have no other choice, but remember you do.
The concept behind the 4 door 2007 Jeep Wrangler seems obvious: Stretch the WWII heritage jeep just enough to get a rear pair of doors in place. But this wasn't the only change in this model- 2007 was the year of the redesigned Jeep, once a mechanical ...

Pros: Off road handling, 4WD traction Cons: Storage capacity, gas mileage The Bottom Line: A car that is fun to drive and capable both on and off road.
Finally bought the wrangler I always wanted and I ended up getting the 2007 model. Some changes from the TJ model that stopped selling in 2006, but just about each one was for the better -- -- The cars interior is a little larger than the older ...

Pros: It's a Jeep only better Cons: None (We all know the shortcomings and want it anyway) The Bottom Line: The ultimate fun vehicle now practical
We have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler that our daughter drives. It has been flawless with the inline 6 and 90,000 miles. We gave it to her after a couple of years because it was too small and not practical. Enter the new 4 door. I was excited about the Toyota ...

Pros: new style, more room, freedom top, versatility Cons: n/a The Bottom Line: classic jeep that is now more practical than ever
I've had my new Unlimited X for about 2 months now and absolutely love it. This is my third jeep, had a 99 Sahara and still have an older 93 Wrangler that spends most of it’s time in the garage now. The ride on the new Jeep is much smoother and ...

Pros: Nice ride, controls are easily seen and utilized, plenty of room inside Cons: small area for rear passenger to step while getting in and out The Bottom Line: If you love the JEEP product and all that comes with owning one- then buy it. Be prepared that it is still a JEEP- still a little rough and tumble!
Im in my second day of 4DR Wrangler ownership. I absolutely love this truck. I have always had Jeeps until the lure of no car payment brought me to a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition (V8 AWD- fully loaded - leather, sunroof, power everything...etc ...

Pros: Fun to drive, rugged, dependable, easy to customize…expensive if you get carried away Cons: Not a lot of power at highway speeds. The Bottom Line: An excellent vehicle because it's reliable, fun to drive, and is unique.
If you are looking to buy an SUV, then Jeep Wrangler is not for you. Several auto reviews complain about the cheap looking plastic interior or the not so comfortable ride. I find these to be ridicules; a Jeep Wrangler is in a class of its own. You can ...

OK, I have owned more jeeps than anyone here. I used them in the Army also. Every one of them was the real deal. They performed, they lasted, and most important they never failed to put a smile on my face. One saved my wife's life. She managed ...

Jeep Wrangler - Only for the Brave

Pros: Built to last Cons: Worst riding vehicle on the planet
My father-in-law purchased this truck because he thought it would be fun to drive. I recently borrowed it while my MDX was being prepped for lease return. Other than the fact that it is built for durablilty, this has to be the worst vehicle I have ever driven. I have never gotten nauseas while actually driving a car, but this one did the trick. The ride is horrendous. No road control, it skips, shudders, and sways with every bump in the road. It was
impossible to find a comfortable seat position. All the materials inside are hard cheap plastic. My father-in-law also like the fact that it was a convertible, but at 70 yrs old, he will not be getting the top on this thing down.
It is a painstaking process. Unless you are living in the desert and driving through streams, I see no purpose to this car at all.

2007 Jeep Wrangler X....Just gave it away

Pros: Like my sister...Really pretty from a distance. Nice lines once you get beyond the plastic. Cons: Chyrsler's mini van V6 is gutless while mated to a horrific transmission.
This 2007 Jeep Wrangler was my forth since 1992. Sprinkled between were various Toyota SUV's. Wanted to recapture my early years with this bright red Jeep with beautiful lines. I don't know if I was spoiled by Asian fit and finish, or just plain underwhelmed with the 07 Wrangler. First, the automatic transmission was like an ADD kid in a candy store, very hyper. Funny thing, I got a recall weeks after I sold it. The new V6 "mini van" motor was the biggest disappointment I think I have ever experienced in a new car purchase. As for the documented easily scratched interior...no sharp objects please. Perhaps the worst designed interior since the 1976 AMC Matador. Does it leak? Yeah it leaks. Freedom top? What freedom? Wind buffeting strongly present at 50 mile per hour when the back roof remain in place. Think dragster parachutte! Coupled with the fenetic transmission was a very thirsty gas tank. Shortly after Daimler turned tail and ran, so did I. Sadly my last Jeep.

Better days behind

Pros: Ride, amenities Cons: multiple soft top leaks, front seat doesn't fold up
The 2007 Jeep has come a long way in ride, from the leaf system to where it is now. I have owned 3 previous models and never had a problem. My last was a 1998 Wrangler, 2 door stick. Never had a problem. The 2007 has not been good to me. The soft top leaked like a waterfall, dealership fixed it, then all the seams started to leak. Received a new roof and it did not fit. Received a second roof, doesn't fit. The service manager at dealership told me that "When the creases come out, the roof will fit- but you need to wait for the temperature is warm". The old wranglers did not have this special feature. If this is the case, only buy wranglers in warm climates where drought is frequent.
... Also, passenger seat doesn't fold up anymore. Good luck getting in the back.
With that said, if you ever drove in a wrangler before and can look past a leaking roof that doesn't fit properly, this is the car for you!
