Pros: Character in spades, cheeky interior styling, lush turbo torque, cut-and-thrust agility, surprising fuel economy. Cons: Clunk-tacular shifter, numb and darty steering, nervous handling, relentlessly hard ride, numerous ergonomic flaws. The Bottom Line: The second-generation MINI is stronger and much more solid than its predecessor, but its chassis has taken a turn for the worse.
Background If you spend enough time hanging around hard-core driving enthusiasts, you’ll find that they tend to anticipate ground-up redesigns of their favorite models with fear and trepidation, not excitement. The reason? Over the ...

Pros: Handles amazingly well, surprisingly comfortable seats, a cultural icon. Cons: Minimal room, premium fuel The Bottom Line: Has to be a MINI-Cooper. No-one ever dreams about swinging a Civic or Beetle through English country roads, swerving around tractors and weaving back and forth between the sheep
The Top Line Not the most practical car in the world, yet it is economic, sticks to the road like the proverbial glue and can still turn heads as the most grown-up version of a go-kart you can drive on the roads. This is a review of the ...

Pros: Fun FUn FUN!!! Cons: Lack of storage space in the trunk. Big blind spot. The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a fun car, look no further.
We purchased this car as a weekend fun car. Due to the fact that we live in New England, I have been taking this car on daily basis to work for a short in-city commute. This car is manual edition loaded Sidewalk edition with everything but the cooper ...

Pros: An awesome little convertible, very unique and rare, a great ride! Cons: Expensive The Bottom Line: If you want a small convertible buy this one. It kills a PT Cruiser or any other small ride.
We just picked up our 2007 Cooper Mini (named "Jiminy Cricket" by our son)Convertible and so far it is a blast. Here are the specifics: 2007 Mini Cooper, British Racing Green, SIDEWALK Edition, Xenon Headlights, Sirius Satellite Radio, Harmon Kardon, ...

Pros: Compact yet spacious, Powerful, Good price for the Quality, Best in its Segment. Cons: A few plastic controls on the panel are a setback to the classy interiors. The Bottom Line: If you are stuck between the Best Mini in the world & an ordinary Sedan. Go for the 2007 Mini if you value QUALITY over QUANTITY.
Ever since the Mini Cooper debuted 5 years ago in 2002, it has always been the most cherished car in the Mini-Car segment, of course that is - Overlooking the price that it comes at. Well!, Quality always has a premium & as far as the 2007 version of ...

Pros: Lots of features on base model, can customize, inexpensive, very safe with 6 airbags, fun! Cons: out of stock at dealership from high demand, 6-8 week wait while they build it The Bottom Line: Would recommend to anyone. Great safety features, great price, you can customize it however you want, the perfect car
It is so hard to find a car that not only is small and inexpensive, but also handles great, is fun to drive, has lots of safety features, you can customize to your liking/price range and is stylish. The Mini Cooper touches all those areas and more! I ...

Pros: Engine response, steering, brakes, front seats, fuel economy Cons: No spare tire The Bottom Line: The most fun on wheels under $35,000
If you enjoy driving a responsive car, and have no issues with a car which LOOKS small from the outside, step inside the car and take it for a spin. Even the automatic version is great, with a full Steptronic six-speed transmission. The seats are ...

Pros: great buying experience, value for the money, safe Cons: none so far The Bottom Line: Great car for anyone who wants to make driving fun again!
... But it will be hard with this car! I am in no sense a "car person." I barely know how to check the oil so when I was faced with purchasing another car, I had virtually no expectations. I wanted something that ran, would last, and got good gas ...

Best of the 2007-2008 models - but not saying much

Pros: Guy magnet! Cons: Controls are confusing and the owner's manual even more so
I bought the MINI for 2 reasons - it has the best visibility of all the 26 or so 2007-2008 cars I tried (but that's not saying much) and it had the least-painful headrest of all those same 26 cars I tried (but that isn't saying much, either). It was the best of all the incredibly too-big, can't-see-the-front-or-rear, way-uncomfortable 2007-2008 cars I test drove. There is a LOT of computer programming to do when you get this car, but unfortunately, the manual is horribly written to the point of being incomprehensible.

LOVE IT!

Pros: Cute & efficient, fast pick-up, lots of storage for both stuff and passengers alike Cons: Doesn't have wings
My hubby & I bought our 2007 Mini Cooper S last March in a smoky silver with a sexy black double sun roof & a 6-speed manual transmission ... and we love it!
It's so cute that I want to kiss its sweet little hood, whenever I get in.
The BMW engine kicks butt on the highway with great pick-up. Excellent for city parking in & around the NYC area & it'll bypass any wasteful, SUV gas-guzzling monster on the road (think The Italian Job).
What it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in speed & gas efficiency.
If only Mini offered a hybrid, they'd be perfect.
We opted for the winter package, which includes warmed seats, heated side-view mirrors & heated window-washer fluid. Interior switches are easy to locate & operate.
The only challenge is the radio, which I'm still trying to master (there is such a thing as too many options!).
Love it, love it, love it.

'07 Mini Cooper S Convertible

Pros: speed/handling/comfort/style Cons: touchy convertible controls when back shelf not just perfectly seated.
Only had it a week but love it so far. Handling is incredible, like a slot car on steroids. Super acceleration, great comfort. A little noisy, but, hey - it IS a convertible. The "sun-roof" capability of the convertible top is really neat to use, even while going up to 75 mph.
I love that the company has a sense of humor (little cover on the convertible top control reads: "Do you REALLY want to close the top? - be honest!")

My 2nd Cooper

Pros: Gas efficient, curve/road hugger, customer service outstanding, fun, customizable. Cons: Small for tall people. Not as many dealerships as other makes.
My first Cooper was an '03 Cooper hardtop. Never had a problem with it. Now I have an '06 S Convertible. The little car flies, I love it when people in lumbering trucks ask me if it's legal on the highways. Is 150mph fast enough? The dealerships are awesome, you are treated like royalty. The oil changes are only every 10,000 miles but you must take it to the dealer. They have it most of the day, doing any computer chips updates, looking over things, replacing all fluids, and washing it. The Cincinnati dealership would drive me to the local mall to shop and have lunch so I wouldn't sit around all day!
I can fill it up for about 30.00 and drive for at least a month. I drive locally, and once in awhile an hour to Raleigh to shop.
