Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Features, performance, handles like a smaller sedan, ride quality, exquisite workmanship
Cons: Complicated controls, overly trendy exterior, somewhat artless interior
The Bottom Line: The performance and feature list of the new big Benz thoroughly impress. If only it were nicer to look at.

Back in the early 1980s the "big Mercedes" was widely acknowledged to be the best sedan available. A Rolls was more expensive, and had a finer interior, but was technologically antiquated. Few took the BMW 7-Series seriously; that company was mostly ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Spectacular Driver Experience, Fast, Powerful, Quiet ride, buttons everywhere
Cons: Button placement, High price tag will sway many potential buyers. Some design issues
The Bottom Line: The S550 is more refined than any other sub-$100,000 luxury car. Its not as sporty as the 750Li. Its more of a cross between a limo and a yacht.

How much luxury does a driver need? In my opinion after driving a Chrysler 300C, a 745li, an Audi A8 and owning an Escalade, I would have to say that the major features I would look for in a Luxury vehicle are comfortable, luxurious leather seats; a ...

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 5.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Performance, features, gadgets, popularity, you will be noticed, crash test ratings, luxury, space, expensive features
Cons: Price, waste if crashed, dashboard could be more interesting
The Bottom Line: The S550 makes you feel like you are a great driver, because of the performance, comfort, ride, features, ride position, looks and safety.

Since I like cars and rent/borrow some, my friend who just happened to be renting a light brown 2007 Mercedes-Benz S550 for a week let me use it for a day with him. I have gone on the highway with this baby, and I did not hear any sounds or ...

Still the best .

Author's Product Rating: Product Rating: 4.0 Recommended: Yes

Pros: Bold styling, interior, technology, engines, ride.
Cons: Not very elegant to look at.
The Bottom Line: Luxurious and high tech, the S-class is still one of the best luxury limos you can get.

The old S-class had a great cachet, prestige, and was immensely popular among critics and buyers; so much so that it was often called the best car in the world. The new S-class certainly has a lot to live up to. The new S-class, with its modern, ...
