Pros: Quick, smooth, quiet, refined interior, price. Cons: Tail lamps are not for everyone. The Bottom Line: If you thought last year's Altima's was awash, I highly suggest taking another look.
The 2002-2006 Nissan Altima was a mixed bag. While it offered arguably the best performance in its class, it was plagued with a shoddy interior and didn't feel as solid on the road or as well constructed as its Japanese competitors. Fast forward five ...

Pros: Styling, performance Cons: Could feel sportier--future SE-R? A bit smaller inside. The Bottom Line: A very good car, but not the stand-out it was five years ago.
Back in the 1990s, the Nissan Altima was never a major player in the midsize sedan market. And not only because it wasn't midsized. No, back when it was a compact the Altima's sales were just a fraction of the Accord's and Camry's. Then, for the 2002 ...

Pros: Unique & sporty styling, spirited acceleration, excellent fuel economy Cons: Optional ABS, odd shifter configuration, push-button start, so-so fit & finish, premium price The Bottom Line: If you want some extra sport in your midsize sedan and are willing to pay a little extra, the Altima makes the grade in most respects.
In late 2001, Nissan unveiled an updated version of their mid-size Altima, a car that while decent failed to make much noise in the same market as bigwigs Camry and Accord. The new Altima, with a sportier design and two powerful engines, was advertised ...

Pros: A whole lot cheaper than similar sized and equipped cars. Cons: You give up a little here and there, like side curtain airbags. The Bottom Line: This is a "sleeper" car. It has most of the features of much more expensive cars and comes from a know and reliable company.
The Altima is a wonderful car. It rivals more expensive models like the Camry and Accord but costs about $5K less. Let's take a look. On the up side you have some pretty good features (mostly optional) like a sunroof, 6 CD Bose changer, navigation ...

Pros: Styling, power, quality, interior, handling, trunk space. Cons: Goose neck trunk hinges, sort of chunky manumatic feature, bad tilt/telescope design. The Bottom Line: The best car in the class.
2.5S Altima with Convenience Package. Black on black. CVT. The new ride. Americans seem to get a convoluted mix of convenience packages for the Altima- in Canada there is but one, and it's offered on the 2.5S only. The convenience package ...

Pros: Great gas mileage, nice looking, I like the taillights Cons: Nothing - the brakes are a little touchy, but you get used to them The Bottom Line: If you like the Camry or the Accord, check out the Nissan Altima too before you buy.
I am just a poor secretary working at a going-nowhere company, but that is another story for later. I always buy new cars, but keep them 10 to 11 years, now that I am "old" and not living at home with the parents anymore. My current car is a 1997 Chevy ...

Pros: Fast, comfortable, fun to drive and good price Cons: regular headlights, needs 91 octane fuel. The Bottom Line: I recommend this car as it brings the speed to a new level at this price
Allow me to start out this review with one word; WOW.” I just picked up my 2007 Nissan Altima about 24 hours ago and have put about 350 miles on it so far. Folks, this is one great car. Let me start by saying that it has not been easy for me. I am a ...

Pros: Powerful acceleration, smooth transmission, sleek styling, great sound system (Bose option) Cons: A little chincy on the interior finishing The Bottom Line: With power, great options, and styling you can't beat it. You could buy an Audi or a BMW, but why pay that much? Everything you need is here.
I've had the Nissan Altima 3.5 SE for a month now and couldn't be happier. I was just getting out of a bad relationship with a '99 Honda Accord V6 which turned out to be a real lemon...transmission went at 103K and numerous other pricey repairs (and I ...

Pros: Car hauls!, Intelligent Key, gas mileage and roomy Cons: Base model interior is too hard plastic, body style hasnt changed much. The Bottom Line: This is one of the BEST 6 cylinder cars for the money. It has way more spice than the humdrum family sedan. A family sedan that feels like a sportscar!
Well my lease on my 03 Altima 2.5 SL was up and I was certain I was NOT getting another Altima. I test drove other vehicles ranging from the Ponitac G6 GT, Chrysler Sebring LTD, Dodge Charger R/T and Nitro, 07 Honda Acccord EX-L. Thinking I might get ...

Pros: So many! Key less entry is number 1. Cons: I didn't get the navagation system, in hind site I should have. The Bottom Line: The 2007 Nissan Altima has value for the price and is dependable. I have recommended this car to friends and family.
The 2007 Nissan Altima has many more features on its starting price than most cars in this price range. I compared the Nissan Altima to a Toyota Camry, Ford Focus, Saturn Ion, Kia Spectra and Chevy Impala. The looks of the Nissan Altima was superior to ...

I used to drive a 1996 Nissan Altima. One day my dad called me over the summer and said he was going to sell my car. I really liked that car, it was my first. I went to all the dealers and really liked nissan. So I upgraded to a 2007 Nissan Altima 2.5. ...

Pros: CVT, LEATHER, PEBBLED DASH, SOUND, BLUETOOTH, IPOD INPUT, 6-SPEED MANUAL, ENGINE, SOUNDPROOFING, LEGROOM, MOONROOF Cons: STEERING WHEEL TELESCOPE ADJUSTMENT IS POORLY DESIGNED, HARD TO USE. The Bottom Line: This car is a winner. It's a head-turner. The new styling is uniquely handsome and sporty. Check it out!
I traded my 2003 SE in for my new 2007 SE. I loved my 03 and I love my 07 more. The grill on the 07 is more attractive than the 03. The rear lights tell you it's an Altima, but Nissan wrapped them around on this new model, and they're beautiful. The ...

Would Buy Again

Pros: Interior Quality, Technology Features, Fun to Drive and Styling. Cons: The standard radio looks great, sounds...average. If it's in your budget get the BOSE!
Is the Altima the perfect car and a clear choice in its class? NO. I chose to buy the Altima but the toss up for me (and likely you) is between the Camry and the Accord as well.
If you're younger and like technology then the speedy Altima will serve that up the best out of the three.
If you're looking for the legendary reliability, something with slightly lower insurance rates and conservative but fresh looks, then the Camry seems to win out.
If you're looking for a deal, the current Accord is in its last model year and dealers will be more flexible. (My other car is a Honda, HIGHLY IMPRESSED with the value they provide.)
Needless to say they are all good bets, but for me the Altima offered a very smart combination of styling, fuel economy, price(selling at invoice in NJ fairly easily), high end features and a promotional 0.7% APR (in June '07). All and all the chips stacked up in its favor, and I love my Altima.

Push Button Ignition is bad for hearing impaired

Pros: Fuel Economy, Attractive, comfortable Cons: Push Button Start
Even though we have hearing aids, we have to remember to actually look at the dash gages to make sure the car is turned off.
Unlike a key ignition ... you can ... have the key fob in your hand and the vehicle still running.
This is a theft waiting to happen. We're going to have to get out of the lease in order to get a standard key ignition vehicle. We're going to end up loosing a few thousand dollars at least.

Pros: Engine Power, Inside Headroom and Legroom, Cargo Room, Radio, Build Quality, Just too much. Cons: The MPG is slightly below what they claim it to be.
This car is absolutely amazing! I leased the 2007 Altima 2.5S, and I have had the car for several weeks now. I still have yet to find something I hate about the car. The pickup on the car is outstanding for a 4-cylinder. It almost makes me think im driving a 6-cyliner engine. The quality of the car has really impressed me as well. I test drove alot of cars in the same class (Pontiac G6, Volks. Jetta, Hyundai Sonata) and it blew them all away. The inside of the car is great for taller drivers. I am 6 foot, 3 inches, and have several inches of headroom and a ton of leg room. The radio is wonderful, especially the Auxillery Jack for an ipod. Trunk space is exceptional. I must transport all my stuff to and from school/home, and this car makes it a breeze.
