2007 has proven to be a wild year for me in the 'cars' arena... I've switched quite a few vehicles, thinnned out my motorcylce collection considerably, and upon selling my multi-utility Altima (which has been my daily-driver and beat-up-on car) I had a ...

Pros: CVT, fuel economy, seats, LCD info center. Cons: No IPOD aux input/single CD for standard stereo, no auto headlights on S. The Bottom Line: This is a solid value if you do not need off road capability and a third row seat.
First off let me say that we have owned the Murano for about six weeks and put around 1400 miles on it. I don't like doing reviews too soon on a car (as you need to drive it a bit to get the feel for it) but I didn't see any reviews posted yet for the ...

Pros: Stylish, roomy, good safety features, nice speed and pickup Cons: Blind spot The Bottom Line: This is a roomy SUV which drives like a car. Excellent choice with versatility and reliability.
To accommodate a growing family, my husband and I decided to trade in our 2 door coupe for a larger 4 door vehicle. We have had good experiences with owning a Nissan truck, so we decided to look into the Nissan SUVs and settled on the Murano. The ...

Pros: Great leg room Cons: front headrest are to "safety" The Bottom Line: Nissan did very good at giving the front and rear passengers legroom and still have trunk space. This is a very nice sedan that stands tall. OK Crossover.
We went looking after I had spent many hours at sites like this looking at specs and trim levels. The 3 that were to be considered in the end were: Saturn Outlook, Honda Pilot and the Murano. We don't care if it has a 3rd row seat. But we wanted cloth ...

Pros: Mileage, design, back-up camera, overall performance Cons: Noisy at high speed with windows open
We had a 2003 Murano and liked it so much we traded it for a new one. Although it it much the same, there have bees some changes and most of all, we love the back-up camera.
Mileage is averaging 23.7 between hwy and in-town, (excellent), considering the A/C is always on and the Hwy speed is 75 mph.
No reservations about this one.

Nice car, but blind spot was dangerous

Pros: Driver/Passenger heat and air controls
Info screen
Plenty of cargo room
Five Seats
Sporty looks Cons: Blind spot was terrible
Center storage bin kept opening
Too few interior lights
I always liked the sporty, trendy looks of the Murano. That's why I rented one for a week, for our family vacation. I love those big, bright tail lights. It's basically the function and utility of a station wagon, but without the stodgy, station wagon look.
However, I simply cannot recommend this car because of the blind spot. I drove it for a week in a variety of conditions: intown, interstate, state highways, residential areas, and had daily "near misses" because of the blind spots at the rear on both sides. I had to pay very keen attention, and even then still had near misses. Between the design of the window pillars and the mirror locations, other cars could get near and I simply could not see them. Because of the poor visibility from inside, I had to drive by mirrors alone when backing up and performing similar maneuvers. A small convex mirror on the left and right mirrors would likely have helped tremendously, but I feel a new car shouldn't have such a flaw. The only vehicles I've ever driven that had such profound blind spots were service vans and large work trucks.

Pros: Space, Trim, Finish, Looks, Acceleration, CVT, Road hugging grip, Ride quality and Fuel consumption. Cons: Wind Noise, blind spots, limited adjustment on steering wheel position.
We've just gone through another snow-bound winter with our second Nissan Murano. And yet again, the Murano more than proves itself on the snow and ice. But no matter the weather, the Murano plants a firm four footed grip on any surface. Okay, so it's not going to win any towing truck or hill climbing award, but then again, it doesn't pretend to be a general purpose AWD, but more sports than utility, and it certainly is that. This thing accelerates like a scalded cat, so much so, you really need to keep an eye on the speedo as 100mph plus is reached in no time at all. Acceleration is smooth and gutsy. The interior is spacious and airy, and the level of trim leaves a lot of its competitors behind. If you're a SUV owner thinking about buying a new SUV, please give this baby a try, you'll be more than pleasantly surprised - it's a good one.
